Meredith “Carly” Carlyle is an EMT who crosses the line at the scene of a mass shooting and as a result is facing a two-week suspension. That night she literally stumbles over a headless, decomposing corpse on her way home from a pity drink at the bar. Feeling stripped of her own identity, Carly empathizes with the skeleton and inserts herself into the investigation, both on the police side and the forensic side. She quickly learns that she is not wanted and finds herself stuck between good cops and bad and the desire to seek the truth or escape with her life.
