Is it YA or Adult? What country/region/time period is the setting?

Did you mean "rape" - "a rate from a family member"?

Tori Yes sorry meant rape. And it's adult set in a contemporary time period.

What is 'family tradition of being wrench"? Does this mean that he hates his job or is that a title or what?

Tori It's a book written in the 1980's. The main character is named Lila or lily. Her parents worked for a wealthy family in the garden area. When growing up lily had a friend who was a boy from the wealthy family her parents worked for.Later in life Lily's parents die and she lives with another family. She returns later married to an architect. The boy ends up taking over the wealthy family business. Then the architect is designing a new building for the wealthy family. After the building collapses it kills a member of the wealthy family and Lily's husband. After his death she opens a greenhouse and tries to keep to herself. Unfortunately she witnesses a younger memeber of the wealthy family being molested by the babysitter. Lily returns to the wealthy family to tell her childhood friend the news.

Tori is still looking for this and writes:

"Main character is a poor girl whose father works with plants. Her name is Lilly or another flower name. She grows up with a boy who is from old money. They slowly fall in love with each other, but she has to leave when they are kids. She eventually moved back. Her young crush is now the head of his rich family. The main girl character returns with her husband who is an architect. She takes over her father' job. There is an architectural problem, and the main characters husband dies from the building collapse. There is an uncle from the rich boys family that is either raping people or molesting kids.

I read it a while ago. It is pretty old. Hopefully someone can make some guesses."

Ronnie~ (ronixwritesofficial) | 5 comments I thought for a second that she's referring to Colleen Hoover's It Ends with Us because:

A) book cover has purple/pink flowers
B) The heroine's name being Lily

It Ends with Us by Colleen Hoover

Tori No not that. It was published too late. Thanks though

Tori I pretty sure the title had the word "white" in it. Also I remembered that I bought the book The Hidden Years by Penny Jordan the same year, I bought this. It was published closer to 1990.
