I was a huge fan. Dirty Mind, Controversy, 1999, Purple Rain; all great albums. He was a terrific musician and performer. We'll just have to wait for the 4 as yet unreleased albums.
Joanie Laurer, AKA Chyna, was also found dead yesterday. Such a shame on both counts.

I saw him in concert in the early 80's at the Nassau Colesium on Long Island and he blew me away. one of the best concerts I've ever seen. RIP Prince.....the world lost a great musician today......
I wondered if this would come up here and am glad to see that it has. Another great talent leaves us. At least we have his music to remember. Purple rain, purple rain ....
Well everyone has to die sooner or later, but he was a legend, had really cool album in 80s (and a movie!), and was never in the news for personal shenanigans. That made him a true artist.
Its weird for me cause I just watched Purple Rain for the first time last week. Now a week later he dies and it just feels so weird and..yeah..:(

Regarding some of the lyrics in his songs, a news show was talking about the irony of a line in "Let's Go Crazy"--"are we going to let the elevator break us down", and he was found dead in one...
I would also like to add this quote, my most favorite:"A heart is judged, not by how much you love, but how much you are loved by others."
I think this applies to Prince who was so dearly loved by so many, and will be greatly missed. I still can't put the words "Prince" and "dead" in the same sentence, and yet, I feel his loss...
The world has lost someone who has brought so much musical genius, and made a lot of hearts sing.
I was and still am his biggest fan.
RIP Prince...
