Running with the Demon question

Hi all, I was wondering about this series since I was working from this reading list, https://www.goodreads.com/series/9916... and came upon this series and was kind of perplexed at how this series was connected to the Shannara series. I've read all the way through the Heritage series but am now at the crossroads of not being sure if I should read this series before the Voyage of Jerle series. Looking at some of the comments from the other series, it looks like Word and Void events come into play when you get to the Genesis Series? Is this correct? Thanks in advance!
