SOLVED. 2015 thriller about a married couple and a car crash. Female author, dark cover [s]

I haven't actually read this book. I saw it on a list of the best thrillers of 2015 and thought it sounded interesting, but I can't find the article now! Unfortunately this means I have limited ability to describe the book.

The plot was about a married couple and something to do with a car crash that caused someone's death. I think the couple were involved in the crash and claimed it was accidental but there was a suggestion they may have been lying. The book cover was very dark and there may have been a picture of a road on it. I'm pretty sure the author was female.

Sadly that's all I have to go on but hoping someone might recognise it because it came out fairly recently...

Sadly not. I stumbled across it during an internet search for something else. I've tried to replicate the search but with no luck. I would guess it was either on a book-related site (not this one!) or maybe a news site, as a lot of newspapers do year-end wrap-ups of fiction published that year.

Woman of the Dead was on the Telegraph's best crime fiction of 2015 list. "It centres on Blum, a wife and mother who (of course) has a dark secret in her past. When her husband dies in what looks like a hit-and-run accident she is convinced his death is no accident and sets out to get revenge on the men responsible." says the Telegraph. However the author is male and the only dark cover is the German edition.

The Stranger features a married couple, not sure about a car crash. It was one of "DuJour's" must-read thrillers of 2015. Darkish cover, male author.
