Not much, truthfully. This one has a bonus story (equal to a whole book, not a short story or anything from what I can tell), and some jokes in back.
From the 'Be Sure to Read' pages that show the rest of the series, the special editions are shown by having fancier covers - the 'gold' coloured edges, and coloured border around a small cover image. They have a small 'stamp' saying they're a special edition in these back-pages (not on the actual books).
The other special editions listed here are: "The hunt for the golden Book" and "The Hunt for the Curious Cheese".

From the list in back of book, it doesn't look like there is one. Neither story has an English listing in the back of the book under the normal editions. Both stories have only been published (in English, at least) as a special edition, and this book is dated as being new of t his month. (First edition, April 2016). They were published individually in Italian.
There's actually two stories in this book, like I said above. The main one is "The Hunt for the Secret papyrus", originally published in Italian as "Il Mistero Del Papiro Nero" . The second, 'bonus' story is "The Cat Gang", originally "La Banda Del Gatto".

I suspect it's a special edition relative to the series, not a special edition of the book. I've seen that kind of language on e.g. weekly comics that have an annual "best of" hardcover book - the annual will sometimes say "special edition", but it's just meaning it's not one of the normal weekly editions. IOW, it might just mean "This is a special Geronimo Stilton book! It has two stories instead of the usual one!" rather than "This is a special edition version of this book."
I really hope that made sense.
