Katja Vartiainen | 36 comments Hi, this is probably answered somewhere already... but how does it work, that one collects reviews of one's book, not yet out on Amazon, and then posts them when publication date arrives? I mean, everyone has their own account, I can only post as myself, so how does it work, because it is done?
Thanks again!

Lincoln Cole | 22 comments You mean a book on pre-order? If it is on amazon as a pre-order, you can give out advance copies, and people can post reviews, but only amazon top reviewers are allowed to post on pre-order novels. You can also adjust the amazon author central page to display editorial reviews (done by professional companies, not just people) and post those early.

But you don't 'collect and post' reviews at all. Other people post reviews, and only if they are allowed by amazon. Normal accounts can post a review the day it is out as well. Also, you and your friends/family are not supposed to post reviews, and Amazon will pull them now with their new algorithms.

E.A. Turley (eaturley) | 70 comments Also, any advance review copies you send out should post their review with the words "I received this book as an ARC/ free copy in exchange for an honest review."
ARC's you can send out ahead of time so the person can post on the release day for you.
Free copies can be gifted at any time in exchange for reviews from the author.
Amazon won't post them if they're not verified purchases otherwise.

@Lincoln... Who are the amazon top reviewers? How do you submit your book to them? The only thing I've heard of is the amazon advertising you can buy.

Amazon will post them but it won't say Verified Purchase on the review. If you received it free from the author, you just have to state it in the review. I've reviewed many ebooks and books on Amazon that I got from other sites such as Barnes and Nobles, iTunes, and Smashwords. On the other hand, Smashwords won't let you post one unless the book comes from them.

Katja Vartiainen | 36 comments Thanks!
I send a free copy as a gift card to a top reviewer in UK(the book had already appeared) and nothing ever came out of it. I wonder if they forgot to mention the ARC thing or just went and bought coffee with it...
