50.1 - Perletwo's task: Primary Colors

Thanks!"
It's a near thing - looks more like a border at first glance - but because there's more blue in the center of the pale motif, I'm'a approve this one.

Red?

Blue?

Green?

Red?

Blue?
[bookcover:Sex..."
Red: both approved.
Blue: both rejected. Sex & the Sea only has about 30% of the right blue, and while the bottle on John Donnellan is the right blue in some places, it's not in the background nor is there enough background.
Green: A Very British Murder is approved, though it's close (nearly half of the cover is black). The Postmortal is rejected, a little too light a green.

Fab, thank you!

Thank You!
Like I said, me and color cover task...
I think I will go with the US State for the second book, I'm sure I will find some murder in New England book for this. Or a Stephen King book with his love for Maine settings...

I was afraid of that, but that is the cover my library has. Oh, well.
How about these for green?

Here are some available green covers, fingers crossed for a hit:

After staring at it for a goodly while, I'm going to reject that one as too light. The dress is approximately the right green, if that helps,

I think it's a little bit too light, very close though, I had to stare a long time to make the call. Sorry.

Yea, been there...
Approving The Burglar on the Prowl. the John MacDonald & Janet Evanovich are too yellow, the McCall-Smith too olive.

Here are some available green covers, fingers crossed for a hit:

Approving Silent Truth. Key Lime Pie is too olive in 1 & too light in the other, and Vinyl Cafe is too yellow a green.

Thanks - I knew it was going to be close. What about this one? I think it's the right green, but does it have too much other stuff?

Still too light a green. Think St. Patrick's Day, think Christmas. The ratio of green to design is excellent though.

It's a little on the yellowy side, but I'll approve it.

Thanks! That was it for greens on my list, but I'll check the social justice list, too, and try to find one there. Nice to know I have something, though, in case I can't find one I want to read!

OK...back to the drawing board again. Seems neither GA nor SC libraries have that cover. Yikes, this is hard!

How about one of these:

Approved: The Devil Wears Kilts, Morgan's Hunter
Duchess has a white background, Lady, Edge and Sword are all too blue-y.

Red:

Blue: [bookcover:Stranger in a Strange Land|35..."
Red: Life & Death approved; Name of the Rose too pinkish.
Blue: approved
Green: I Capture the Castle, approved; Capek is too pastel, Elves too olive.

Thanks for confirming, that gives me something to work with.

Thanks!

I'll approve the audio edition's cover, yes. It doesn't look like any of the paper or e editions us..."
Thank You, The audio book was my choice.

It's hard to get just the right shade! Thanks for looking at these (and the red ones) to see what works.

Book 1-Red:

Book 2-Blue:

Book 3-Green:

Thanks for checking! :)

Red:
[bookcove..."
Red: Approving all except Full Tilt and Faithful Spy - the design elements keep them from having enough red background.
Blue: Rejecting all, most are too light except Orphan X, which is too dark. See that vivid royal blue in the bottom (ocean) third of She's Come Undone? That's what you're looking for.
Green: Approving Bell Weather and A is for Alibi. The rest are too light and/or not enough green.

Afraid not - the majority of the cover is much too pale and too yellow. If you can find something that's most or all the green of the grass at the bottom, you'll be on the right track.
