Do you write? I am forever starting stories and never finishing. (Okay, I finished one.) I am thinking of picking back up on a post-zombie-apocalypse story I started. It's kind of a silly story. I also was thinking of starting a new fantasy story, but I am frustrated that I never finish.
Anyway, do you write? Do you finish stories or litter the world with doomed introductions to mediocre stories? Are you published? Any advice would be awesome (published or otherwise). :)

Stevie Miles | 1 comments I write! I write used to write every day and submit my poems to contests and publications, but when I moved cross country I just sort of stopped. I won a couple contests before and so I guess that means I'm "published" in the collections those contests produced- but nothing major.

I try to write fiction sometimes but it's a lot harder for me. I struggle with the lack of structure, and committing to the length.

I'm trying to get into writing on a schedule again. I find that helps- especially with finishing a piece. Say you'll write every day for one hour or something like that. Choose a realistic commitment and stick to it.

Advice for getting published- just submit. It sounds so easy, but that's really what it takes. It's really hard to click send, or get that envelope in the mail, especially when you're feeling insecure and dreading that rejection letter. Everyone I know who is published, though, it's because they kept at it. Keep writing, keep sending it out, keep revising, and odds are you'll get there.

Rosalynn Maahs Daigle (soapbubblemoments) | 11 comments I love writing but I have to be in the mood to do it. Some weeks are better than others and mostly I write about personal experiences. Lately though I've been starting a new story which is a collection of stories in a way from different years in this person's life. Hoping to keep up with it.

Megan Snyder | 2 comments I am taking an online writing class through my library and it is about a thief named Nova who has just been given the biggest mission of her career. She's pretty cool. I write as much as possible, when I'm not reading. I use pinterest as a place to store my images that inspire scenes. Especially people. It is nice to have everything in one place. Give me a follow if you want to. :) Good luck to everybody's projects! Keep on writing!

Heather | 8 comments Hi, I just joined our book club! I used to write quite a bit, but am also famous for never finishing anything I write. Lately, the writing bug has been biting pretty hard. So on my last trip to Barnes and Noble, I picked up a new journal along with a little book with a ton of writing prompts ("264 Little Things to Write About"). I have started a story that I think could really be something, but I have NO idea where I want it to go yet... Last night, I wrote THREE PAGES in my new journal! That's a lot for me recently. I hope to write several journal entries a week, which will at least get me writing SOMETHING. Here's to progress!

R.L. Griffin (rlgriffin) | 1 comments I write. I've written 9 books and one kids' book. I'm currently taking a break and reading everything.

Marta Youngblood | 9 comments Oh I definitely write. I run a volunteer blog called TheWRITEaddiction on Wordpress. I guess you could say I'm in a story starter mode. When something demands that I write it out, I write until the impulse plays itself out or the Muggle World demands that I go adult (eyeroll).

I have two favorite storylines hanging out there. One is called AUreality and the other one is Racing Astronauts. Y'all are welcome to check them out if you like. I love comments and feedback. http://tinyurl.com/ptxd67e

Marisa (mwg25) | 40 comments Wow! Very impressed with all of you. Writing for fun is probably one of the furthest things from my mind. I generally wrote decent essays in school, but they were like pulling teeth to get done - so slow and painful. If I have to transmit information, I'd much rather give a presentation or something!

I think one part of it is that it is generally hard for me to choose leisure activities that require a ton of alone time. (I do love to read, but that fits in the cracks where I can - on planes, at the beach, while waiting for other things). Also, especially for someone who works in the performing arts, I'm not all that creative. :-p

Emily Miller (enchantinglyemily) | 5 comments I would LOVE to write, but I can't think of any good stories! I feel like if I have an idea, or want to expand on a crazy dream I've had, that I get to the point where I feel like it 's already been done.

I do write a lot on my blog right now, though, and that really fuels the part of me that likes to write. So maybe I'm just not a fiction story writer, even though that's the only thing I like to read!

Sara Kehoe | 7 comments I write fanfiction, which is what lead me to getting a Creative Writing degree. I have a couple unfinished novels in the works (one young adult fantasy, one adult mystery) and am finally in a place in my life I can concentrate on them again.

I have one self published novel I wrote with my dad. But nothing solo, yet.

Laura (tyorkshirelass) | 9 comments My ambition as a child was to be a professional writer, but I could never get story ideas to completion - I'd go full steam ahead on the premise and world-building and then hit a wall halfway through. Sometimes I could write particular scenes but then struggle to link them together, so you'd end up with a third to half of a story and then random bits of action. The one thing I've finished was a piece of fanfiction I wrote during my downtime when I was backpacking, and although it was five years ago I reread it recently and it was absolutely dreadful. Not that that didn't mean I played around with it as a salvage attempt, mind you...

However, this year I'm determined to make a go of it and am currently working on a novel (a murder mystery set in Roman Britain), trying to do 500 words a day. It's not great right now but I feel that right now it's about getting back in the habit and I can work on improving it later. I also have a blog which I try to post in twice a week, so that takes up a lot of my writing time.
