Not that I have any photos (or at least not right now) that I want to post, but I'm just curious... Can you post photos and how?
Yes, you can! If you want to post photos directly in the topic you'll need to have the image hosted somewhere like Photobucket or Imgur.Once you've uploaded your photo, right click on it and copy the image URL. In my browser, the wording is "copy image address."
You can use this HTML tag to post a photo. < img src ="URL FOR YOUR PICTURE HERE"> (remove the spaces)
Or, you can link to your Instagram or Twitter feed if you've posted the photo there and if that is easier.
Wow! You guys have so many more books than me. I'll post a picture of mine a little later in the week but e-books have definitely led my shelf to be more decorative than anything else :P
We're still renovating and turning one of our back bedrooms into an office/sewing room/nerd haven for mostly yours truly because I need quiet to read, and write, and waste hours of my life on Pinterest and my fiance is the absolute best. We're building custom shelves like these:
Sorry! I'm pretty much over the moon about them.
So I packed up all the books I had on my old shelves and have only the bookshelf in my living room (which is not scheduled for home improvements at this time). Unfortunately, this is like my island of misfit books. This shelf contains books that I either have read and hated (like, oh, The Magicians) or books I have read ages ago and need to re-read to continue the series, or books in a series that I've yet to buy in entirety (see: Shiver), or books on the bottom of my to-read (see: most of the shelf), or books I reference frequently and thus want nearby my computer (which is presently in the living room). It's kind of a hot mess shelf.
But here it is!
Bottom Shelf

Computer. Writing Reference Books. Design Reference Books. Journal. Random Speakers.
Middle Shelves

Paperbacks on the top. Hardcovers on the bottom.
Tiny Top Shelf

I usually throw my library books up here. Oh, and there's an adult coloring book on the tip top.

Wow!! That's a loooot of books!
Lucky you hahaha I loved it =)
I'll post mine tomorrow or saturday, idk.
Those are not specifically mine, Sophie, but we're borrowing that idea and they will hopefully be that beautiful when they're all done. We're also borrowing this idea (since we have a similar alcove in the room we're turning into an office/sewing room/nerd haven).
I hope this lady is comfortable knowing I have stolen her style and we may end up having a nearly identical room in our respective homes. ;) Also... I should probably seek professional help for my Pinterest addiction.
So this is the bookshelves at my home:
My husband read just as much as me, so we have to share the space. My books are the ones to the left. We both too many books and too little space, so behind the books you'll find more books.
We need a bigger house!

I need more shelves and bigger house for sure!

If we had an extra room I would make it into our own library. That's always been a dream of mine, but I don't think it'll happen.
This first picture is my horribly messy bookshelves. I am in desperate need of more shelves, but I don't have any space for them either. The piles in the corner are each about 20 books high, and there are four piles stacked in there.
The second one is a picture of my main reading area, which is just at my desk. I sometimes also read on my bed, but most often at my desk so I can control the music on my computer.
I don't really have that many books at home (I read a lot of ebooks), but here are my shelves. This is my shelf of favorites and reference books I have on the living room (the part that is missing has a few of my father's books, so I didn't bother to include them).
The second is a picture of one of my closet shelves where I put my to read books. I usually read in my room before going to bed, so I like to keep them close.
And the final one is a box with all of the books that I have read and am going to sell/donate.
We have a ton of bookshelves. My husband has brought a collection of sci-fi and fantasy books into our marriage, and his kids books. I brought a lot of my mom's books. We both bought a lot of books for ourselves and our kids. A lot were gifts. On many shelves we have two rows of books, behind each other.Living room - yes, the closed parts also have books:

This has mixed books for all of us. Large picture books in middle on top. Kid books below
Living room, other side:

Family room:

Seven of these shelves are doubled up (left bottom and right top). Those are my husband's sci-fi and fantasy collection. Mine are in the top middle. Left top is my mom's.
Kids' bookshelf:

We have another that holds crafts books and also a bunch of books in boxes. I have recently given away two boxes of kid books and about a dozen of mine I figured I will never read.
We are constantly running out of room so lately I have been getting books from the library or on my Kindle.
Instagram: Our cozy reading nook (including a picture of Lenore, nicknamed Princess Potato). Getting Comfy
Our place is so small that I only keep books that I need to read on hand. The ones I have read have to move on to new loving homes. So my "bookshelf" consists of my TBR pile and my kindle library. :-(
Manda wrote: "Instagram: Our cozy reading nook (including a picture of Lenore, nicknamed Princess Potato). Getting Comfy"Oh, gorgeous. I am very jealous of that view!
I don't have many print books so my bookshelf is more decorative and most of the books on there are really ones I found in bargain bins at some point. I definitely want to try to buy paper copies of my favorites so that my shelves actually reflect my tastes :P
Each time I go to see my cousin I wait for her in a bench outside her building and read (she's always late from work, sometimes I have to wait for almost an hour) here's a photo from friday =)
I'm the same as you Laura, I'm re-starting to buy paper novels but only for my little 5 stars and stuff I really enjoyed and want to re-read :) Paula, I couldn't resist when I saw them (I watch the movie like 2-3 times a year, so the Funko seemed a good idea).
I'm temporarily living in Tennessee for an internship so I don't have "shelves" per se. So I'll just show you my book piles. : pFirst off you have the books I've gotten in TN that I've read, but still want to take home with me when I leave.
Then you have my donate to the Little Free Library pile---it looks small, but I made a trip to the LFL 2 weeks ago:
And then you have all the books I've gotten while in TN that I've yet to read:
You could say I have a book-buying problem. : P
And then for the other Bingo photo prompt---The weather lately has been excellent so I read outside until the bugs start to bother me!

Haha, I love your photo, Paula!
Thanks Marina =)Finally I managed to take a photo of my bookshelf (this is the one in my bedroom, there are other in the house =P

If you want to take a look at each shelf you can see them in my photos:
