Rod Van Blake (rodvanblake) | 9 comments http://ancientillumination.net/wp-con...
science fiction, space opera, first contact, military sci-fi
Looking for ten people to review my science fiction novel about beings made of pure light who come down to enlighten the inhabitants of Earth during the days of Cro-magnon. Things go wrong after one such sentient light being decides we're just too dumb to get it and is exiled here for committing atrocities until he gets us a close to their level as possible.
Other details available at www.ancientillumination.net
One reviewer will be given a free paperback version of the book. Available in e-pub, mobi and PDF forms.

I would like to review a paperback version of your book. It sounds interesting. We were neighbors growing up. I am from Hornell, NY. Used to spend some time in Rochester.

I think the paperback edition is a raffle after all the book reviews are in, Francis, a chance to thank the reviewers for taking the time to read.

Anna Erishkigal (annaerishkigal) @Rod - R2R's tend to do better if you insert a large image of your book cover right at the top of the page. Grab your image URL uploaded someplace else, then come here to edit your post and use the 'some html ok' feature to figure out how to do that. Recommended width="400" height="600"

Rod Van Blake (rodvanblake) | 9 comments So Far I have Francis on the list and Anna is correct on the paperback version, and thank you for the advice on my book cover. I'll see what I can do to enlarge it. Francis could you message me your email please?

message 6: by Rod (new)

Rod Van Blake (rodvanblake) | 9 comments @Anna-Trying to use the html is ok and its not working just posts a link of the image.

message 7: by Anna (new)

Anna Erishkigal (annaerishkigal) You have to go to your book page, click INTO the 'enlarge cover' feature, and then hover the mouse over the image and right-click it to grab that URL (not the URL at the top of the page). Sometimes that works, sometimes it doesn't. If it still won't post properly, then try posting your book cover in Pinterest or upload it to your Facebook page, or from your image file in your personal website, and grab the URL from that.

Here ... use THAT link from your website (right-click to grab it). I just tested it and it will work.

P.S. - you might want to clarify in your ad post that AFTER you get all the reviews in, you'll be offering an opportunity to raffle off one paperback copy. [*lawyer me - splitting hairs*]

P.P.S. - what sub-genre of space opera is this? Sometimes helps if it says 'military space opera' or 'girls with guns' or 'near-earth space opera' or whatnot.

The link did the same thing as the last one. Space opera is a sub-genre of science fiction, and the other sub-genres are mentioned in my OP after science fiction.

Anna Erishkigal (annaerishkigal) You're formatting it wrong. I can't just type in the html because it pulls up the image. But this is what it should look like. You have to grab your link, and replace the sample link in the 'some html ok' tutorial:

Hailee | 10 comments Hi Rod,

I know you have already seen my review but I thought it might be a good idea to post a link for people to see my Goodreads review of this book here so others who look at this post can see it if they wanted.
