Beverly (lili-annechavez) | 9 comments I read this book a couple of years ago and it's an adult BDSM book. I remember distinctly that the author had written it in response to Fifty Shades of Grey because she thought 50SoG showed an abusive and wrong portrayal of BDSM and she wanted to show how a real and healthy BDSM relationship should be. The male character was older, probably in his forties or fifties and I believe he was the CEO of a company, but I can't remember. I don't remember what the female did, but she was younger than him.

My next description will be NSFW so if you don't want to read that then stop here.

The man got off on watching his girlfriend be with other guys and there's a scene where he sends her to a masseuse to get a happy ending or something and later on he asks one of his friends to have sex with her while he watches. I think he liked the feeling of being jealous and she liked being with other guys, although it is important to note that the two main characters do love each other and I think they either end up engaged or married.

I'm not entirely sure if this book was part of a series, but it probably was so I can't remember if this next scene was in the same book or in another one that comes after but he has friends that are swingers and he and his girlfriend have a ménage with them and I think later the girlfriend learns that the swingers are going to get a divorce although I'm not entirely sure about this.

I never got to finish this book and I just remembered it and it's plaguing me that I can't find the book anymore.

Nela (nelikne) | 472 comments Is it the The Boss series starting with The Boss by Abigail Barnette, which is a pseudonym for Jennifer Armentrout? She wrote it as a reaction on FSOG, you can read about her criticism on her blog... :) I remember there being the ménage and something about the divorce, but not very clearly... There was a huge age difference between them (at the begining she is like 24 and he is 47 or something like that)...

Beverly (lili-annechavez) | 9 comments Yes, that's it! Thank you, Nela :) I've read Armentrout's YA books and I remember thinking, while reading The Boss series, that I never would have imagined this author writing this type of stuff.

You were really quick btw so thank you again - I didn't expect a response this fast.

Nela (nelikne) | 472 comments Glad to help. Well this is the only book I remember being the reaction to FSOG... So I tried :)
