Peter Clines is a new author for me and I chose his book 14 for this category. It was a creepy cross between science fiction, horror and steampunk. I almost didn't finish because at times I was bored or annoyed at some stupidity in the plot, but I powered through and it was worth it at the end. 3 stars from me. I listened to this on audio, but I wish now I had read it instead.
