"What exactly is the Cyber Convention?"
The Cyber Convention is just like any other Convention. Only ours is free, online, and open to the world. We are pleased to have Japan, Israel, England, and Australia with us among many many more. Our intended audience is books lovers. That is it. We built this for readers of all genres, fiction and non.
If you've never attended a live convention, then let me paint the scene for you. Imagine a "meeting" where everything you love about a certain something... let's say cats as an example... is going to gather to celebrate cats.
It won't just be a cat show. This is a convention. You'll see cat shows, cat books, cat products, cat lectures, cats. Cat celebrities! Grumpy Cat would be there... and the cat from Fancy Feast. Dear Kitten would be there. If they could write, they would be signing cans of cat food for you. Cats themselves would be lining up to get in,,, that is IF cats EVER cared about anything other than making an effort to not care about anything. People would dress up like cats... we call this "CosPlay" or "Costume Play" in the Nerd world. Musical lovers call this Cats, the musical. T.S. Elliot would be there signing copies of "The Book of Practical Cats". The Broadway musical "Cats" would be playing. This is a convention.
Our convention is themed "books." We almost had a couple celebrities for you. Some are in the audience.
"Where did this come from!?"
Hi! I am Angela B. Chrysler and this is my brain baby. I am an author who needed to market my books. In 2015, I was preparing my first book for release 31 May 2016, and needed to generate excitement. So, I developed this idea. I threw it out there and started inviting authors. Those who heard about it jumped in. Certain authors passionately fell in love with this idea and immediately made plans for 2016.
This year those 160 people spread the news out to 690 people! If 160 can make 690... I'm terrified and excited to think what nearly 700 people will do with this. So the Convention caught on, I published my books, by the time the 2015 Convention rolled around I had two books to publish. Since then, I studied the problems with 2015's Convention and "tweaked" them. I also had a handful of authors volunteer to help and they have been just an amazing team!
So, welcome to the Second Annual 2016 Brain to Books Cyber Convention. Check out my booth!
