I don't know about anyone else, but I thought about this during the whole second part of the book. I only figured out the exact image of the room I want after going to my Art History class yesterday and I saw Ann Hamilton's installation called "the event of the thread," where basically she has a room of swings and they all connect to a sheet. The installation is interactive and wants the viewers to use the swings and physically move the sheets. My room in the circus would use this idea, but have all types of playground equipment and they all connect to work one of Herr Friedrick Thiessen's clocks. I was fascinated with his clocks and want one for my birthday!

Liss | 24 comments firstly, I can't wait to see what other people comment in this thread because each person will have something unique to them.
I really like the idea of having a room with all sorts of picture frames or painting covering the walls, and whatever is inside the picture moves (like in harry potter) however, the pictures that appear inside the frames are unique to each person, as they represent the person's memories, aspirations and dreams. The best part is that they can step through the pictures to relive a memory, or experience one of their dreams.

Liss - I really really love your idea, the moving pictures, made of dreams and memories you can experience sounds just amazing <3

I would probably have a tent with a relaxing mood, for those who are super excited by the circus and need some time apart to unwind before seeking out other tents (example: getting some anxiety from the crowds or just too much to take in and need to breathe and relax)

My first thought was a tent of animals like sleepy or cuddly kittens and puppies, and then it expanded to the magical side of things: a tent that could house a bunch of people, but each person felt surrounded only by the things that relaxed them - so if someone wanted a cup of their favorite relaxing tea, that would appear; or if someone felt most comfortable around a certain kind of animal, they would be able to interact with them; or if someone felt most at home surrounded by books, they would find themselves in the perfect, comfortable little library full of their favorites and be able to relax; or someone who absolutely had to draw or write about what they had seen so far to keep it close, they would find sketchbooks and journals and the proper tools, in a secluded and comfy place, but still in the circus...and so on and so forth..

I hope this makes sense - sometimes as I read the book I would feel so in awe that, if i were there in person, I would like to have a place out of the way, to just kinda absorb, recharge, and wonder at what I had seen; but it would also be helpful, say on opening night, when there are just so many people that you might feel anxious (i can get anxious in large crowds, if anyone hasn't guessed that yet) - My tent would be a place to help you with any of the above and probably more, while still staying in the wonder of the circus (sort of like a harry potter room of requirement) :)

Jennifer (genoveffa) | 48 comments I like the idea of a room where you can think of a story and have it play out like a movie. Always have plot lines running in my head, but it's hard to get them out into the real world so in my head they stay.

Firstly, thank you so much. I'm glad you like the idea :)

Second, I love your idea so much! And I completely agree that it would be useful to have a place to go and relax or de-stress a little. I for one, have anxiety going into large crowds of people so this would be the perfect place for someone like me to visit if things got too much.
