Hannah (generalsleepy) | 6 comments Hi! I would be so incredibly grateful if someone could help me with this one, as this was one of the most important books to me as a child.

The book was a collection of small stories featuring animals teaching simple moral lessons about honesty, kindness, and so on. The one story I remember clearly was one about a fish in a classroom (school, get it) that was contemplating cheating. The message was that honesty was the best policy and that you should "sink or swim" on your own. There was another story I don't remember the details of, except for the phrase "kindness begins with you" which has stuck with me.

I also think there might have been a multiple choice element to the book, where you were presented with a set of options to the problems the animals were facing (should the fish cheat on the test or try his best on his own), and you would choose. Then they'd tell you the right answer. My memory isn't entirely clear on this one, so if this wasn't a feature of the book you remember, it still could be the one I'm looking for.

My mom read it some time probably between around 1998 to 2002, and I remember it being newish when we had it, so at least the edition probably wasn't older than the 90s.

Again, if you can think of anything even vaguely close to this description, please leave a comment. I'd appreciate any suggestions. Thanks a ton!

If not:
Can you describe the illustrations?
What country were you in when you read this book?
