Judith (jeb321) | 21 comments I have just asked this but in "regular" discussion and I meant to post this for my fellow mystery lovers. Here goes. Please Please can someone explain the ending to me of To Love and Be Wise, Josephine Tey. I think I just missed the clues and definitely did not get Inspector Grants explanation. I have looked at reviews and analysis but at the risk of being terribly embarassed the lightbulb has not lit up in my brain. I might be making it much more difficult for myself but last line in book ? Is Searle a chameleon?

I haven't read that one, so I'm no help at all!

Icewineanne | 161 comments Not sure if these need to read in order. I placed a hold on the 1st book in the series, The Man in the Queue. Hopefully it arrives soon. TL&BW is the 4th book so it may take until fall for me to get to it. Hopefully you'll still remember what the book was about - hah!

What is the last line in your copy? For me it is "He could hardly wait", and it is Grant thinking of Superintendent Bryce's face when he makes his report to him. I wonder if you have some pages missing?
