I like how this is starting, strong and right about where we left off. Shazi is literally one of the best characters I've read in a long time oh my goooooooood.

Not going to lie, I'm actually pretty upset Rahim died. I know it's realistic but still. I do love how Shazi's father redeemed himself, I didn't really know how his story was going to end but I love how she shows how finally seeing Shazi come undone is what brings him back to himself.

I love how everything ended, that epilogue was amazing. I think the second book really redeemed the duology for me.

However, this book was better than the first. The characters, the writing, and the relationships in this book series are special. I can't wait to read the 3 short stories. The book begins with Khalid helping an 11 year-old and her younger brother clear away rubble from their house that was caused by the storm. When the book turns to Shahrzad's part of the story, she is at a camp with her sister, Irsa, and her unconscious father. Shahrzad begins to manipulate the old rug that she received. Also, Jalal tells Khalid that he is going to be a father. Not long after that, the Rajput and Despina ask to leave and start a life together, which Khalid allows them. Jalal is convinced that Khalid sent away the mother of his child because he allowed Shahrzad to be taken away. This ultimately causes a physical and verbal fight to break out between them.

Shahrzad begins to travel to a temple where Musa is at to try and break the curse on Khalid and to figure out what is wrong with her father. While she is there, she meets Artan, a boy around her age that has powers. He claims that his aunt might be able to help Khalid, but refuses to take her until she can fend for herself. During one of their training sessions, Shahrzad is hit with a fireball, that sounds her stomach. Artan is able to remove the worst of the damage, but it is instead placed on his own stomach. A few days later, Shahrzad returns to the palace to convince Khalid to go with her to the temple. After a long conversation, she convinced him to go with her. When the reach the temple, Artan has a giant winged serpent and claims that they are going to a hidden fortress that is carved into the side of a mountain.

When they arrived at the fortress, Artan's aunt said that the only way to lift the curse from Khalid is that he must destroy the book that Shahrzad's father has in his possession. When Shahrzad returns to the camp, Isra demands to know what is going on. Once she tells her, Isra is eager to help her get the book. Isra then creates a sleeping tonic that causes their father to fall asleep. As she is meeting Shahrzad and Khalid in the desert, Tariq and Rahim had been following her the entire time. When Tariq sees that Khalid is with her, he shoots an arrow, but Shahrzad steps in front of it, which causes the arrow to embedded itself in her shoulder. The next day, Khalid leaves to return back to Rey and as Shahrzad attempts to leave, she is confronted by Reza. Reza convinces her to seek help for her wounds, but ultimately led her to a tent that had an assassin in it. He watched as she was attacked and did nothing to help.

Shahrzad wakes up at Khalid's uncles. From there, she is escorted to a dinner where she finds out that Despina is actually Salim's, Khalid's uncle, daughter. After some confrontation, Shahrzad is sent to the cells to join Vikram. After some time passes and Khalid has learned that Shahrzad has been kidnapped, he heads there alongside, Omar, Tariq, Rahim, and a bunch of others. In the dungeons, Shahrzad escapes with the help of Vikram, Despina and Yasmine. Once Shahrzad is reunited with Khalid, Salim's palace is set on fire, which causes him to surrender. Once it appears that everything is going to be okay, Shahrzad's father freaks out when he hears that Khalid had destroyed the book. In anger, her father attacks Khalid and kills him. Luckily, Her father gave up her life to bring him back. The end of the book is about five years later and shows Khalid, Shahrzad, and their son.

I hated the first book and just wanted to read this to finish this saga already but Ugh, I really dislike this second book the most I can't stand Shahrzad and even most Tariq, damn, this characters are so hormonals and idiots that I can't stand them, the only one I like is Khalid but sometimes I want to slam him in the face.

About all this plot is so boring and nonsense that I don't get it so times but I really want already to finish this saga, I don't know if I'll someday read another book about this author it will depends in the end. (hide spoiler)]

(view spoiler)[To be honest I skip so many chapters because I hated this book more than the first one, it's was just so freaking lame and boring that I want get over it or kill myself. I can't stand neither of the characters at least in the first book I kinda like Khalid but then he just was the typical guy who thinks that just because he's a man he can treat women like shit and make herself low.

The plot just get worse and I get lost in all, even I didn't think it was a plot at all because at first is what the "curse" but then it was all about how much Shahrzad need it a men in her life because she can't have a life without a men and how much Khalid need a women in his life. Just. To. Boring. And. Annoying.

I don't think I'll ever going to read something about this author because I get so many expectations about this saga and just freaking hated it.
