Magyk is a square shaped book (the whole series is in fact https://www.goodreads.com/series/4489...), but it looks like a diary.
The whole series is awesome so far. I get stuck on a few parts in Syren and I haven't read the last book yet. It's on my TBR which I'm going to try to clean out this year...which only means that I'll keep adding more books to it. Such is the life of a bibliophile.
I love Angie Sage and I own all the books in the Septimus Heap series. Hope you're GF enjoys this. It's a great light fantasy romp.
