Evgeny- I really love Lord of the Flies but have never read The Woman in White!

Evgeny- I read both of them but "Woman in White" was so good, I recommend from the same author "Moonstone"

I read the Moonstone already and I quite agree with you - it is better.

I just finished reading Glass Sword and I really enjoyed it and I hope you do too.

Winter by Marissa Meyer (just started)
Days of Blood and Starlight by Laini Taylor
Frostbite by Richelle Mead

I read An Ember in the Ashes two weeks ago and I ABSOLUTELY LOVED IT! It took me a while to get into it, but once I did I was hooked! The characters are great and the world is different and kind of scary. Highly recommend it. BUT I'm currently reading Me Before You and oh boy... it's really good! I'm afraid to finish it because I have this stupid feeling it's gonna break my heart. Both books are great! If you're in the mood for fantasy pick An Ember in the Ashes, If not, Me before you. Hope you read and enjoy both books, though. :)

In the bullpen, I have several murder mysteries waiting. I love the Italian murder mysteries because they don't focus on the violence, sometimes more of a cultural study or even an Italian cookbook. (I'm an Italian student, by the way, so it all fits in.)

Lord of the Flies and The Woman in White." My book group reads a lot of trashy novels and it's more like homework than pleasure. Can you tell me how your classics book group operates, how you select the books and some examples of titles. Thanks, Joe

Maximum Ride, The Angel Experiment,
The Whitechapel Fiend
etc.

It is too early to tell, but it the very least it is an easy read so far.

The biggest criterion for the selection is the length: we try not to read books longer than 250 (300) pages - the rare exception like The Woman in White go to side reads.
We nominate books and it is much easier in case of classics as some of the group members have read the nominated books before. Having active discussion helps keeping interest even in boring books.

It really depends on the genre you would like to read.

I really dont mind opening up to new genres.

Have you thought about Throne of Glass, Cinder, Shatter Me ?

I know people don't like that series but I just think it's very interesting.

Although I haven't put it on GR yet I am reading Illuminae. Also thinking about picking up one of my French books, just to remind myself that I have a second language I don't want to give up.
