Nothing But Reading Challenges discussion
NetGalley Challenge

NetGalley: April 2016
Yay! Well done Margaret :)
I really enjoyed Still Alice for similar reasons, but I decided I couldn't read another one of her books with similar subject matter quite yet

how are you both doing? I have been drilling Amanda about what is a goal or plan that makes sense. She said that going by your feedback percentage ratio is good way to do it and that 80% is ideal. I am at 16%. Problem is that I want to get more books before they are archived! I have set a ceiling of no more than 90 books on my shelf at a time and I am going to try to get my percentage ratio at least to 75%. Anyhow, that is a plan that I am hoping will be logical. I'll have to go back in the thread and snoop into all the posts and get some ideas. :)
I've still downloaded more than I've read this month. My plan is to to try to get to 80% and to stay close to that. I'm almost done with my second NetGalley for the month and I'm starting a third, so at least I'm heading the right way now.
Another one down:
- https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...That makes 9 read and reviewed since this challenge began. I'm on a roll. :D
Has anyone ever ran across the problem with discovering that you had not downloaded a copy to your kindle? Problem is that the book I was planning on reading has been archived. For whatever reason it is not on my kindle. I have searched for it via Amazon as well. I'll move onto another book, darn! I sent the publisher a note about this.

Sleep tight all!

Yes. I ended up getting a copy from the library when it was released! If the publisher doesn't get back to you, you can always just mark it as read but let them know what happened

This weekend I finished and reviewed 3 more books, all of which I added this month. At least I'm back to an 80% review rate. Now I'm hoping to finish some that were on my shelf before.

I saw that 1st one, how is it?? That & the 2nd one looks interesting
Margaret wrote: "So your review is chosen to be featured? where is that located? So exciting and what an honor :)"Yup, they put it at the bottom of the book's page of NetGalley - you can see it here. I didn't get an email notification or anything like that, but when I went to look at my Shelf -> Feedback Sent that book has a little icon next to it that says "Featured". :)
Nice work ladies! and I really enjoyed your review Kristie. I have a run of WWII books at the moment for some reason so I'm staying away from them for a little while, but it does sound like a good one
I get really excited when that happens too Kazen. I really want that last NetGalley badge lol. I seem to have only had 2 reviews featured, I think. I guess it depends on the publisher and how active they are in checking and featuring the rveiews

I didn't know any of my reviews had been featured until I got the badge! Then, I looked it up. It's very exciting. :)You need three featured reviews to get the badge, so you are almost there, Karen!
If anyone wants to check to see if their reviews have been featured, you can see it on the bookshelf for "feedback sent". They put a little badge next to the reviews that have been featured.

I've been reading a few of them recently too, but really wanted to get that one off my shelf.
Ughhh, between here & just approved discussion lol I added more titles lol At least I plowed through a few more reviews, gave one title "Not interested anymore & I just couldn't read it" Though really excited for Blood Lust since I've read the sneak peak in one of her other titles & To Love a Wolf cause I've been reading that series & Stitches in Time cause someone said it's like a southern Southern Debbie Macomber.Added:

was really good. I liked it a great deal, though it wasn't an amazing read. The heroine is awesome.
is a book that needs to follow the others in the series. This is the 4th (and final?) book. While I was easily able to figure out the world and setting, I wasn't into the characters and the first half is a lot of overcoming personal issues and fears to get together.
Karen ⊰✿ wrote: "Nicely done Myst!"I'm happy to be making some sort of dent!
I had gotten sidetracked by
that I got my hands on since I didn't get it for arc & then I had to read the rest of the series not realizing I've read 2 of them before.Lara wrote: "Myst wrote: "I saw that 1st one, how is it?? That & the 2nd one looks interesting"

Sad I missed the other one, probly be a while to get to the series I have about 3-5 arc's I need to read before they archive.

I love her Dead in the City books, great humor in them! I haven't gotten a chance to read the newest title,
sounds interesting.Yay! Busted out another review, I have 5 more titles I have to read before they get archived in 4-6 days. Her Quicksilver Lover will be tough as the 6th in the series I need to put aside a whole 2 days or so for that series.
Update:
In the Line of Fire by Jett Munroe
I just finished
. I really love this series! I broke my rule of requesting another book from Netgalley, but I HAD to get the next book in the series.
Yay, I *finally read and reviewed a NetGalley book this month!Read: Icing by Kelly Jamieson - 4/27/16 ♥♥♥
Review: Icing Review
It took forever to read this one--18 days (unheard of for me). I just stalled and couldn't get going again. What a relief to be able to start fresh with something else. Hopefully I'll finish up another one before month-end.
Read and reviewed
loved it and gave it 5 stars I have
to review before it hits the archives in a few days. It's short so it shouls be a quick read. I wasn't able to review
couldn't get adobe digital editions on my kindle.I'm at 22% and still adding titles I've reviewed 4 total so far.

Amanda wrote: "I just finished

Whenever a book comes up from a series I've read/enjoyed and/or a book from an author I've read/enjoyed, I still order it even though I'm behind.
Amanda wrote: "I just finished

Review:
Her Quicksilver Lover by Lynne Connolly
I just finished writing my review of
but I can't share it quite yet - it's slated for release in January 2017! O.o It's the first time I've had a release date so far out.And with that review I have no more pending books at NetGalley... which cannot stand, of course. ;) Several requests are now pending! Bwahahaha.
Kazen wrote: "And with that review I have no more pending books at NetGalley"No reviews pending?! Woah. I will never reach that point. lol You clearly have amazing restraint.
I have started my third book for review for this month. I'm not sure that I'll finish it before May, but I'll try. I started The Art of Not Breathing. I have plenty left to review and look forward to doing this challenge again in May. I have a few planned to read and as this month progressed, I did get better about reviewing and not requesting. :) Great challenge!
Kristie wrote: "You clearly have amazing restraint."Or control issues. ;) A large backlog makes me nervous! I never planned to get to zero though.

It's still pretty impressive. :) Good job!

I enjoyed it and hope to see more in the series.Review
I'm happy with my progress this month. I read and reviewed 5/6 books I planned. My feed back ratio is at 21%. Depending on what books come up for request I hope to get my ratio up in May.
I logged onto Netgalley today and noticed I got approved for all the books I requested from one of my fave publishers Yay.
I only managed to read two of three that I planned to read but have managed to about 5 others so I am happy, also added a couple to my list, so not so great but I will get there, still got to review the ones I read but I will try and do that this weekend.
So I ended up with one less book on my shelf by the end of the month, I read 2 so my % increased

I will update my spot when I'm at a computer. For now, I will note that I read two and acquired four. My rate went down from 74% to 72%. I plan to do better next month though. Karen - I'll be interested to see what you think of The Other Einstein. I almost requested it, then decided to be good.

Well, I feel that I showed great restraint by only adding 2 books this month. However, I only completed one book/review, so I slipped slightly. *sigh* But I feel that this challenge is allowing me to focus on what I have and what's coming up.NetGalley Challenge – April

I haven't read it. It was one that I considered requesting, then didn't. I think it was the medical aspect that turned me off at the time. I've heard that it was well done though, so I may still read it at some point.
