I'm looking for a book I read a few years back, maybe five or so? (I hope I'm asking in the right place.)
I think it was stand alone, no sequels (can't be sure though,) but I'm struggling to remember details so I don't know if anyone will be able to help (my apologies.)
I know it involved children or teenagers, they might've had abilities (telekinetic/psychic?) I think a young boy escaped from a facility of some sorts, and joined up with a few other children, I think the leader character was a girl (though I could have the two mixed up)
I think they lived in an old ship or submarine in a dock area or possibly it was marooned.
They went into a city area occasionally maybe to find supplies or just to explore, but I know they had to be careful for some reason (discovery?)
The ending is the part that stuck with me most, I think there was a victory of sorts, or they found something. Anyway, the girl is describing a future she sees of her children growing happily and safely.
I'd greatly appreciate any help I can get, it's been bugging me for a while.
