It seems like I remember a fun story of Krypto being exposed, and he turned into different animals? Maybe?
It's interesting to see the effects of Red in the shows Smallville and Supergirl.

That it removed her inhibitions to the point that any anger she was holding in came to the surface and took over. I think that's different than "turning evil".

I agree, I loved the use of it in Smallville. I actually think Tom Welling could act better under the bad influence - his acting skills when he tried to come across too pure were a little lacking.
I also am a rare person who liked Superman III the movie...
At least RedK does an exciting influence, and not an annoying one like removing powers.

Ha! Me, too - primarily for that scene. I've always loved the idea of duality and to see the physical manifestation of his two sides fighting each other was pretty cool.
It looks like Red Kryptonite has evolved in affect a lot over time.
I was amused to see in a video today that there was a one time usage of "pink Kryptonite", which turned Superman temporarily gay lol
"Pink Kryptonite
In Supergirl (vol. 4) #79, when Linda Danvers takes the original Kara Zor-El's place and arrives in the Pre-Crisis era, there is a comical scene where Superman is apparently exposed to Pink Kryptonite, with the implication that it temporarily turned him gay."
