Melaslithos | 1360 comments According to the librarian manual, in the case of an author's middle name, we should put a dot after the initial.

But what about this author: Evan X Hyde?
The X is not the initial of his middle name (his full name is Evan Anthony Hyde), but that is how he is known and the name under which he publishes his books.

Please check his wikipedia article here:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Evan_X_...

So should I also add a dot after the X or not?

lethe | 16359 comments I vote yes. Pseudonyms are treated the same way as real names, so I would put a period after the X.

OK, so I changed it to "X."
