Question about an author's name

According to the librarian manual, in the case of an author's middle name, we should put a dot after the initial.

But what about this author: Evan X Hyde?
The X is not the initial of his middle name (his full name is Evan Anthony Hyde), but that is how he is known and the name under which he publishes his books.

I vote yes. Pseudonyms are treated the same way as real names, so I would put a period after the X.
