I’m going for 150 in 2019. I try for that every year. In 2018, I read a bunch of tomes so cut my challenge back to 140, but I still ended up hitting 148. I thought I’d go back to the 150 this new year.
I usually set mine to 150 or higher, but I'm only setting it to 104 this year, because I've got other stuff I'm dealing with, including surgery coming up in a few weeks time. Speaking of which... If I disappear for a while, that will be why.

Thanks for letting us know Victoria! Good luck with you surgery!

Set my goal for 70 and about to finish my first book for the year. Re-reading ACOMAF. Then I’m going to work on finishing Drums of Autumn and starting Dumplin.
I was so happy because I finally finished
and I did it on Dec 31st!!! LOL! I loved it, 5 star read, definitely!
And today I finished
which was very very good, I loved it! I think I'll settle on a 4.5 star rating. It was so different, completely different than anything's she's done. Almost a Choose-Your-Own-Adventure kind of book, with multiple universes and choices. Basically, the book shows us 6 different decisions Jane, the MC, could make and what results from each one. But they all tied together to form a strange story about this mansion on an island and all the people in it. A very interesting concept, and it was executed near flawlessly IMO.
I have several books on the docket up next:

I’m currently rereading the Grisha trilogy in preparation for the release of King of Scars later this month. I didn’t care for it much the first time around, but I’m loving it now. There are so many nuggets from Six of Crows that she planted in this beforehand.
Ohhhh Elora! I’ve been going back and forth about rereading that series. I never read book 3. I loved Six of Crows though!!!
Karen, I tried rereading it a few months ago and couldn’t get into it. I forced myself to now that KoS is on the horizon. It’s so much fun—I recommend. I was stunned to find out the 2 MC meet Jesper from Six of Crows in the beginning of book 2! And there are so many references to the Shu, Fjierdans and Kerch traders that I overlooked the first time through since I didn’t know how important they’d all end up being. ☺️
I think I will take your advice then and try it! Before I read King of Scars! Are you going to reread Six of Crows series?
DNF’d Mortal Engines. Was not good...at all. It just jumped around too much and didn’t always make sense. Going to finish Drums of Autumn and start Dumplin’.

So I'm now reading
and I am LOVING this book!! It's NASA, and astronaut school, and science, and likeable people!! This was a book I got from Jenny in our advent exchange. Thanks Jenny!!
Also reading
on my Kindle and rereading/listening to
on Audible, although it's been eons since I first read Watchers. I love Einstein so much!!

I reread the series last summer, I enjoyed it much more this time around too. Although I always loved the 3rd book! That one is pretty epic, with some major twists!

Yay, glad you're liking it!
I haven't read Watchers in a long time, either and its one of my favorites.

My review post is up on my blog, so if you want to see what I read in December 2018, you can do so by checking out my post here: http://ziglernews.blogspot.com/2019/0...Starting from next week, I'm doing my review posts weekly instead of monthly, and they'll include reviews for movies and TV shows sometimes too.
Jenny, Glad to hear it! I had forgotten so much about the series, but am glad to hear that the third book is awesome. ☺️
Jenny, are you rereading Six of Crows too?I’m so excited for King of Scars. I rarely preorder books, but this one I plunked down my money on day one. ☺️
My first book of 2019 was Gmorning Gnight by Lin Manuel Miranda (the Hamilton guy). What a treat to read for the opener of the year. It’s a book full of sweet and inspirational sayings, all with some kind of positive twist even if things are rough. There’s a bit of language though....

I actually bought a copy for my mom for Christmas :) All of these come from Lin's Twitter account, so I remembered a few of them (I'm an addict) and the illustrations were so cute!
I agree re: language, although Lin does his best to tone things down bc he knows kids follow him online - pretty sure he self-censors the F-bomb ;)
And depending on when this Six of Crows readalong happens, I might pop in -- January is way too busy for me, but hopefully I can get to it soon!
Ashley,That’s so sweet. I’ll bet she loved it. I got it from the library and ended up buying a copy for myself.
And yes, please join the read along! ☺️
