Yeah. I wasn't sure if I would, because I didn't like the TV show. But everyone kept telling me the books were better, so I thought I'd give them a go. Turns out the books are much better, and I'm really enjoying them. I'm now reading book 5, which I should finish some time this week.

Is Unbound all the books in one? I read the first two and haven’t finished the series.

Nancy (paper_addict) Never mind, I clicked on the book and read the description. I didn’t realize there was a short story collection!

Amanda (manka23) | 47 comments So I finished Rebel Belle and started Flawed (Flawed, #1) by Cecelia Ahern which is so much more thought provoking than I thought it would be. Really enjoying it so far.

Donna (donanicole) | 897 comments I am listening to The Rogue Queen (The Hundredth Queen, #3) by Emily R. King , third in the Hundredth Queen series. I am reading Disruption (Disruption, #1) by Jessica Shirvington and The Glitch (The Glitches, #1) by Ramona Finn . I loved Ramona Finn's Culling Series. I also can't wait to start Tarah Benner's Colony One by Tarah Benner but it is a first in the series so may wait for the rest.

Emilie | 35 comments Hey everybody ! I'm turning to you today beacause I'm facing a little reading problem... I've started on the dark star Dark Star (Dark Star, #1) by Bethany Frenette and I would like to read the two other books on the series. I've bought this one online at amazon, it is a second hand book, coming from the US. I've been able to order the second book Burn Bright (Dark Star, #2) by Bethany Frenette also second hand, but the third one Fire Fall (Dark Star, #3) by Bethany Frenette is not avalaible anywhere I looked (abebooks, momox, amazon, google : "used books")... And it does not exist in kindle edition either.
My question is : if one of you still have a copy of this book, would you lend it to me, I'll pay the shipment to France and back of course ! Or if you find it at a local US or GB bookstore for a reasonable price, would you send it to me (again, I'll pay for everything)
It's not that I'm dying if I don't finish this series, but I find it entertaining and I hate not knowing the end of things...
Thanks if anyone can help !

😭😭😭I’m so sorry to tell you this, but I think you are out of luck. I googled it for you and came across a blog post by the author stating that it was never published in book form—only ebook. And I see what you mean: it’s not available anywhere. 😔

Elora Mitchell | 449 comments @ Ashley. I finally saw Ready Player One!!! I really liked that one. And yes, Aech is amazing. I thought they portrayed her well in the movie.
Now if I can only catch up and see Black Panther!!! I’ve been DYING to see it. 😉

Well well well... If I can find the ebook version I'll be happy. I wouldn't like to have to come to the extremity of kidnapping the author's cat in exchange of a copy, my life is quite busy for the moment with my own cat, soooo.... ;)
Thank you anyway for your help ! I might not have started on the first book if I had known that...

message 3666: by Elora (new)

You know what ? I took the easy option, I emailed the author to know WHERE THE HELL I could find that damn file !!! (Plus, I'm not sure she has a cat, she might be a dog person and I don't really understand dogs...)

Ok, they're not selling it anymore, even in kindle edition. What the hell ??? Like the kindle files would take sooooo much space in their warehouse... Now thank you evolution and your stupid progress ! You can find hard copies of books 150 years old, you just have to find the right person somewhere in the world that owns it and will sell it to you, but with the ebooks they've killed the sharing ! 21st century, you suck ! (And now I feel so close to those 5 year old who put out a tantrum because they can't have the plush unicorn they wanted because mom said they weren't any left at walmart... :D )

Elora Mitchell | 449 comments @Emilie: That's so crazy???!!! I can buy it here. I was checking to see if I could gift it to you, but the book can only be redeemed in the US. :(
And I agree! How hard is it to store a bit of a document these days???
It's wonderful and amazing and sometimes brutal how hung up we get on the written word and how crippling it can be if we CAN'T FINISH THE STORY!!!

YOU can buy it ?? I just can't believe that ! I went to amazon.com and I couldn't buy it (even worse, on amazon.fr it just doesn't exist !) That's so unfair, what difference does it make that people download it in the US or in Europe, seriously ! Sometimes I fell like I live in a world I can't understand... If I manage to come to the US someday, I'll try to buy it. And if I don't manage to come to the US, I'll apply to some fancy tech school, and I swear I'll hack amazon's system, take that file and offer free books to the whole world as a vengeance !! HA HA HA (devilish laughter...)
Thank you anyway for the trouble you've been into to help me, that's very sweet of you ! I really appreciate that !

Uum... I don't put too much hope in that one, but a girl can dream, can't she ?
Enjoy Black Panther ! (I didn't but it doesn't mean anything)
I came to see Avengers yesterday, it was fun to see all my favorite heroes' worlds all collapsing together !
RPO was excellent, I'm also waiting for it in blueray ! I totally agree, Aech is perfect, the avatar is so cool !
I'm going to see Deadpool next week with a friend, I can't wait !

The Kindles themselves are exactly the same. The chargers are different though. I know US Kindles can work in the UK though, because the Kindle Keyboard I had before the Fire I still use now was a US import (I brought it when they stopped selling them here, but were still doing so in the US). I just had to buy it a UK charger.

I think they have to keep the actual Amazon/Kindle sites separate for countries due to things like taxes and currencies.

But, I don't see why you wouldn't be able to get the same file for every country. Even if it wasn't translated, you'd think it could still be available in English.

I really liked it!! It's the story of Achilles and Troy. If you watched the movie Troy with Brad Pitt, you'll know alot of the story. The book is based on Homer's version of The Illiad, so there's more of the Gods and Goddesses in this version, and it's told from the POV of Patroclus, Achilles' love (not his cousin like in the movie).
