Just read
Which I had for a while and so glad I read it. Now reading the second in the series
I'm also listened to
after finishing the first
Started listening to
which I have heard about from you guys forever but finally am listening instead of reading.
I have been reading a lot, actually. Even though I have not appeared here for a while.
I have so many books I want to read.
I also read
and
There are not many books about losing a grandchild. It is similar to losing a child but you also mourn for your child who lost their child. And the brothers and sisters left behind. I may have to write my own book.
I also read Barren Book 1 : War in the Ruins. This does not come up in any search I do. But the second book does

Here it is. Just type Barren Thorn (title and authors last name) and both books come up.

Donna, I can’t even imagine what you went through and are still going through. 😓 You SHOULD write your own book!!

I actually did search by author, both authors and separately. It would not come up. Thanks.
I am liking The Hundredth Queen series which is a bit like Amber in Ashes. I’m listening to them both and I think I like The Hundredth Queen series better.

Finished Children of Blood and Bone and absolutely loved it! Hopefully I can meet her at Yallwest and get my book signed! Started reading The 5th Wave, not sure how I feel about it yet but I’m going to give it a shot.
I went to the local book fair "lire à Limoges" today and I am proud to announce that I made it happen to actually come back with only five books (all signed !) Et voilà ! That was hard, but I did it !! Cheers ! My hands still shake and get sweaty when I think about the half ton of paper I had to left behind, but I actually was able to make reasonnable choices and not just jump on everything because it was paper-made and bearing words... My self-conducted therapy is going well aparently ;) I'm already halfway through thinking I could apply to work on a book store without being kicked out on the first day for hiding in a locker at closure time, but let's not jump to conclusions, the road might still be long for me... :DSo I ended up with three of an author whose family almost raised me as a kid with their books (the murrail family, all three of them siblings writers)
and the whole Golem series, one from a local author I had met at Cultura during a signing session and who writes fantasy about the ruins of a castle a few miles away from home
and a polar (ok that one I can't really explain because I usually am not interested in polars, but the author was nice, we talked for a while, sooo....)
That and the stuff already in my kindle, added to the huge amount of French bank holidays coming in May, (sighs) what a feeling !

I loved CoBaB too! A really amazing new fantasy, especially for a debut author!

Finished
5 stars. I love the turns this series has taken. I just loved all the backstory in this and all the things we learned as readers. The world buiding keeps adding, as does the character development. This is great political fantasy!

That's not a short trip for me, I'm afraid. I live in Iowa. Its probably a 2 day drive to California.
And I'm still broke after my trip in March to Arizona!

I'll be at Yallwest! I plan on meeting Marissa Meyer, Tomi Adeyemi, Sabaa Tahir (AHHH! She's never been there before), Angie Thomas, and Tahereh Mafi.

Sweet Catherine! I'm jealous :)

No Yallwest for me either. 😕 I have Phoenix ComiCon coming up in less than 4 weeks! They just announced Diana Gabaldon! There are a bunch of great authors attending this year.
And then, like Jenny, I am also broke and have to cool it for a while! 😝

Lucky you I kind of assumed someone in the group was going.

I always hear about these conventions and never hear if any near me. How do you even find out about them?

I started out following authors I liked on their social media, and I saw announcements of their signings. This gave me annual events which I started following. Also local bookstores. ☺

Due to hospital trips and health issues, I never got around to posting the link to my March book reviews post, which went up on my blog at the start of April. Now my April reviews post is live too. So, I guess I have two months of book reviews to get you caught up on. Here you go...These are my March book reviews: http://ziglernews.blogspot.co.uk/2018...

Working on Games of Thrones I see! I really am hoping to read the first book by the end of the year. I'm waiting for the next Tome Topple readathon to tackle it. Good for you! Seems like you're enjoying them!

Usually social media. Instagram, Facebook, etc. I'm in many Facebook book groups, and people are always sharing info on things like that.
