I was getting a little bored with Fireblood (Whispers from Mirrowen, #1) by Jeff Wheeler , so I started Soldier Son (The Teralin Sword #1) by D.K. Holmberg which is off to a great start :)

Finished Earthcore by Scott Sigler and LOVED it! Yay to Sigler for revamping (he added 50% more) and re-releasing it this month.

Now reading We Are Legion (We Are Bob) (Bobiverse, #1) by Dennis E. Taylor on audio. I started Snow Crash by Neal Stephenson in print (not sure about this one yet). I may switch to Lord of Shadows (The Dark Artifices, #2) by Cassandra Clare instead.

I read it after Lady Midnight and most definitely liked it more than that one. ;)

Barb (bubasbookshelf) Currently reading Confessions of a Queen B* (The Queen B*, #1) by Crista McHugh and I love it so far! Perfect summer read :D

I've entered the realm of indie books and I love it there! And believe it or not, it's all thanks to David's Slip series!
(Still saving money for physical copies of all three books, Amazon's shipping to Croatia is hella expensive!)

Yeah, Lady Midnight underwhelmed for me, but I had high expectations.

You are getting way ahead of me on Sigler books. I need to catch up!

Ha, yes, I have about all of his books now, signed. He keeps showing up at all the Phoenix events. I really liked Infected (Infected, #1) by Scott Sigler and this new (old) one EARTHCORE by Scott Sigler . He's pretty good with the horror stuff. If you're squeamish, don't read Infected. ;)

Catherine Bruno | 771 comments I finally have access to my notifications!! I haven't been able to access them for a couple weeks now, I don't know why. But I finished Winter Garden and I'm now reading Sabriel and Much Ado About Nothing. Once I finish my cousin and I are going to do a buddy read of Fairest by Levine.

Let us know what you think of Sabriel, Catherine. I liked it okay, but I had high expectations and they weren't met. I've decided not to continue with that series.

One of the books that readers who buy Fatemarked on Amazon are also reading is Battle Mage by Peter Flannery and it is FREE today on Kindle!

message 2772: by Catherine (new)

Catherine Bruno | 771 comments @David I think I agree with you about Sabriel. I actually have started reading it twice before and have never finished it. This time I'm determined to read the whole thing. But I don't think it's as good as everyone says.

I just finished William Shakespeare's Star Wars Verily, A New Hope (William Shakespeare's Star Wars, #4) by Ian Doescher and I adored this read! Great fun humor in this one. Its so awesome looking at Star Wars from a Shakespearian POV (like if it was a play).

Right now rereading Passenger (Passenger, #1) by Alexandra Bracken --loving it!

Also reading Impulse (Impulse, #1) by Ellen Hopkins , good so far, and going to start Career of Evil (Cormoran Strike, #3) by Robert Galbraith which I'm super excited about!

Elora Mitchell | 449 comments I've missed you guys! I don't know about any of the rest of you, but notifications haven't been coming up on GR for me for weeks. But they're FINALLY better. Now I get to see what you all have been reading....and add a bunch of them to my TBR list. Glad to be back. :)

I just finished Orphan Train by Christina Baker Kline , which was SO good. I highly recommend. It's along the line of a Ruta Sepetys' book, so it'll make you laugh and cry while tearing out your heart.

I also just read The Dark Days Club (Lady Helen, #1) by Alison Goodman which was pretty good. It's got a Jane Austen meets X-Men kindof vibe going on. I thought the sequel was better than the first, too!

I tried getting into Seeker (Riders #2) by Veronica Rossi , but it's been WAY too long since I've read the first book, so I'm setting this one aside until the series is complete and then I'll (re)read all of them at once!

I'm always having notification issues. Not just on Goodreads either, but also on Twitter and Facebook. Sometimes I get all the notifications I ask to get, sometimes I get none of them, other times it's somewhere in the middle and some show up while others don't. I've gotten in the habit of checking on threads I want to keep an eye on if I haven't seen a notification for a while, just in case I missed something I want to know about.

For me, it didn't match up to my expectations from TMI and TID. The characters weren't as interesting/entertaining. It was okayyyy...i just had high expectations I think.
