hello, i read your helpful suggestions on researching lost books, but havent had any luck. so im really hoping someone will recognise this! the story starts way back in time when a standing stone is erected in a field. we follow this plot of land through history, the buildings put there and the characters associated with it. ends up being st pauls cathedral in london. some fascinating historical detail of course, i had a close call with Edward Rutherfurd, but thats not it! i do not recall the title or author in the least, but i thought with a standing stone and st pauls i would have come up with something...anyway, thanks for reading

Are there key characters/families in the story?
Does it end in modern times?

hi philip. it does end with the present day cathedral. i think i read it about 10 years ago, but thats only a guess. nothing stands out for me about, for example families, especially as they changed on a regular basis of course. i remember thinking how unusual a story it was at the time, the standing stone idea was great, a place of worship throughout the ages. i think there was a suggestion that the the stone (or something significant) was still there under the cathedral. i really dont recall anything else though.

Hi, I think I've read this. I always thought it was called 'The Gospel of Judas Iscariot', but it's Resurrection by Philip Boast.

I remember the standing stone. The story went through time, I recall Saxons and Romans. It was like a history of London, all centred on the holy spot with the stone which ended up being under St Paul's.
