If you've found us, you've likely already discovered the Popsugar Reading Challenge on that website. We got started in 2015 and had so much fun we just kept going.
Here are a few tips and suggestions about how to get the most out of the group.
1. Drop in to introduce yourself at the Welcome members! Introductions ... thread.
2. Share your progress with us in our Weekly checkin. Posted every Thursday (or as soon as I remember to do it.) Here post what you've read for the week and which prompts those books fulfilled.
3. Add your recommendations to the bookshelves.
4. Look for inspiration (and post your own) in the 2016 Challenge prompts folder. Here you'll find a folder for every prompt. We also have bonus folders for two prompts. In The Job Folder, you'll find threads for a variety of jobs. Look for your own occupation here ("book with a protagonist that has your occupation") or create a thread if one doesn't exist and you are in need of recommendations. And in The Home State folder, you can post/read threads for each state (or countries/provinces/etc.) for the "book that takes place in your home state" prompt.
5. Post your 2016 reading list. Hint: Remember the number of your post. You'll go back and edit your original post to mark off your progress.
6. Join the monthly challenge. New this year, we voted on prompts for each month. Those who are interested will read a book fitting that prompt in its designated month. We discuss our progress in a special thread and then mark our completion in another thread. We're also trying a "group read" for the first time in April. We'll be tackling The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy
We have a great group here. I hope you find something that keeps you interested in hanging out. Feel free to message me if you have questions or post your question in the appropriate thread. Everyone is great about jumping in and helping new members.
