I recommend readers look for an edition that has a glossary of the major "Nadsat" grammatical terms. Nadsat is the "Russianate" language used by Alex and his "droogs." Since most of the action is described in Nadsat, the reader will gain a greater understanding of it with that glossary. My own edition is quite old, with an afterword and that glossary assembled by Stanley Edgar Hyman.

I was able to find the Stanley Edgar Hyman glossary, separate from the edition I have. So now every reader can look at the Nadsat definitions online at any time: http://soomka.com/nadsat.html
I'm really excited about reading this! I have it on hold from the library. Thanks for posting the Nadsat definitions; I'm sure it will help a lot.
I have 18+ hours or driving time this past week for work and vacation, so I ended up picking up an audio copy of this and I've burned through it already. Ooops, at least I'll finally be on time for the weekly discussions though! Anyways, the copy I had included an introduction from the author about the importance of the last chapter which is commonly truncated from copies sold in the US. I'm pretty sure this has been said before, but make sure you pick up a copy that includes this twenty-first chapter. I think it completely altered the tone of the story and is absolutely necessary.

No 21st chapter, it seems.
I've had this book on my shelf for months (probably even years) and I'm so stoked about finally reading it! My book is broken into parts with the chapters restarting each time, so I counted and had 21 chapters. I bought it here in the U.S. so not all hope is lost :) Here's my copy: A Clockwork Orange
