Give it until chapter five... that's what I tell everyone... that's when I found the book addicting :)
what if a book dosen't have chapters?
Eme wrote: "what if a book dosen't have chapters?"I only say "give it to chapter 5" for The Host... :)
Yeah... I found it hard to understand in the beginning... so I also like to tell my friends to "Keep an open mind". :)
I don't like sci-fi that much, but this book was more about love. what do you think?
I loved it. I cried like a baby. I also loved the characters. Stephenie really knows how to emphasize on their personalities and physical looks... its easy imagine yourself there, actually seeing and understanding the characters. You know?
Yes! What other books do you like?
Ain020596 wrote: "Can somebody tell me what it was about and giv a summary?"The "thing" are called "Souls". They are implanted in human "Host" bodies. Once implanted, they have full control of the body. Wanderer (the main character) gets a difficult "host" body, Melanie. Melanie is still present in Wanderer's mind, which is not suppose to happen. Throughout the book you read the conflict between the two. It's complicated at first but Stephenie is great at what she does and you soon get the gist of it. I don't want to give too much away but as Wanderer tries to probe Melanie's thoughts to locate a group of human resistance, Melanie fills Wanderer with memories of her love, Jared. Melanie and Wanderer set off to try to find the "men" they both love. Great book :)

I like Wanda. But I also really like Ian
liked it better than twilightfor once, the main character gets the crap beaten out of her
and i got to get all obsessive and be like "GO IAN! NOT JARED!"
plus, the wanderer is such a cool name!
the love quadrangle was pretty interesting too
Ohh, this book took a few chapters to understand but once it did I was sucked in.I loved it, and I wish she'd make another to it.
I loved Ian too, [:

I SO agreee!
although i must say, im not particularly fond of the ideas for the other "places" the wanderer has lived inI mean, a planet with dolphins
and a planet with bears?
i dunno, just kind of confused there
i agree with it being confusing. i almost put it down cuz i didnt understand it, but then kept reading and fell in luv with it. i luv ian :]

It was cute when he seemed to be fighting over her haha!
i no he was horrid to her at the beginning but the did think she had basically murdered the love of his life, I mean anyone would be pretty pissed of right?
so if someone murdered someone you loved and then paraded around in their body you wouldn't be a total bitch to them? lol
There will, or suppose to be called 'The Soul' thats goes to it, because she said she has a hard time letting the story die.
I'amber. wrote: "There will, or suppose to be called 'The Soul' thats goes to it, because she said she has a hard time letting the story die."that sounds goo I'ld definitly read it
I think it may be about wander.I'm not sure but I googled it the other day actuall because I wanted to know to because I red the host like 2 years ago and Im reading it again [x
And I would love for it to con, and then this girl told me it was so yeah.
In March 2008, Stephenie Meyer stated that a sequel to The Host was "almost done". She said in an interview that, if published, the first sequel would be entitled The Soul and the second The Seeker.
^Thats wat I found and also if you go on amazon and type in the host there a view with her talking about the host, at the end it says how shes going to write more to it because she can't let a story easy die.
I thought the Host was far better Twilight and was impressed with all the characters. I can't wait until the next one comes out! I'm looking forward to seeing if the human race takes over again and if they (we) will make all the same mistakes over again or if we learned a lesson...
I have to agree I like it hellu better than Twilight myself, but then again I'm a big fan of Twilight.
I've read 'the host' twice! It's almost better the second time, eventhough I do love the whole mystery of reading books for the first time. I liked it so much that I just had to own it and I wouldn't trade it for anything. (unless if the author came over and asked for it herself, of course.)
