Without a doubt: Gunmetal Magic by Ilona Andrews.
Started it a couple of days ago, so not finished with it yet, but it's just as awesome as the rest of the Kate Daniels series!

Gunmetal Magic (Kate Daniels, #5.5) by Ilona Andrews

Karsyn (imzadi) By my own rules of recommending all-ages books, I can only recommend ~

The Fixer (Mort Grant, #1) by T.E. Woods

I read it for the Gold Cover quest for LRPG. It was GOOD, not great. Parts I liked better than others, but it was enjoyable overall and I'll probably try the second one.

Sarah Addison Allen can do no wrong. She is the Queen of Magical Realism!

Totally agree, I love her books!!

JoLene (trvl2mtns) | 705 comments Right now, I'm listening to: Passenger and I love it. I'm about 1/3 way through.

I did finish: The Cuckoo's Calling and would recommend this -- it's the start of a mystery series by JK Rowling (using a pen name).

Rebecca (rebeccasg) | 3792 comments I think my favorite so far is After You (Me Before You, #2) by Jojo Moyes which I'm still reading, but it's so captivating!

Becky ♡The Bookworm♡ (mckennamuse) | 4205 comments Started before and finished after:

Marked in Flesh (The Others, #4) by Anne Bishop
Marked in Flesh The Other #4 by Anne Bishop

I wouldn't be surprised if this isn't the best UF book that I'll read this year. It was absolutely amazing!

Daphne (daphnesm) | 937 comments I've read the first two books in The Southern Reach Trilogy. Really enjoying it.

Annihilation (Southern Reach, #1) by Jeff VanderMeer Authority (Southern Reach, #2) by Jeff VanderMeer Acceptance (Southern Reach, #3) by Jeff VanderMeer

Angie ☯ | 3092 comments I have to say that so far my favorite of those I have read since the RaT began is Ink and Bone (The Great Library, #1) by Rachel Caine .

Imagination Meg (imaginationmeg) | 60 comments I haven't read that many books, but my favorite by far is Red Queen (Red Queen, #1) by Victoria Aveyard Red Queen by Victoria Aveyard.

It is truly amazing - I loved it a ton and recommend it to any fans of YA (I really would recommend it to anyone at all, but if you don't like YA, I guess you probably wouldn't like it. If you are wondering about it or are turned off by the cover (don't judge a book by its cover!), go for it! The cover is dramaticizing the blood a little - there are only maybe 4 violent scenes in the book, and even then, the worst mentioned is a bullet wound, but there is no mention of gore, just the mention of getting shot (view spoiler). It really is an amazing book that has enough action and mystery to keep you going without feeling overwhelmed by it. 5 stars!

message 13: by Jen (new)

Jen (reader44ever) | 2930 comments I've only managed to read - from start to finish - four books so far: three "adult" books and one children's picture book. And the three "adult" books I read were all from the same series: the Circle Trilogy by Nora Roberts, which I really love as a whole.

My favorite book of the trilogy, though, is the final one: Valley of Silence. It wraps things up beautifully, and I felt teary so many times while reading it that I lost count. :-)

Valley of Silence (Circle Trilogy #3) by Nora Roberts

Amy the book-bat (batkisses) | 914 comments I would have to say The Nightingale by Kristin Hannah and I should be finished with it in an hour or so. Really enjoying the book, even though there are some horrific moments that make me want to cry.
