Am a writer/reader who just moved to Seattle about a month ago. Currently reading "Killer Hair" by Ellen Byerrum and 'The Goldfinch' by Donna Tartt, and have been a huge mystery fiction buff since being weaned on Agatha Christie when I discovered 'Murder on the Orient Express' at age twelve. Am a film JUNKIE, all kinds, just yesterday saw and loved the Korean suspense drama 'The Flu'. Also have a blog where I do mini-reviews of films for people "on the go" (www.sixtysecondcinema.blogspot.com), as well as am in my seventh year of keeping track of all new movies I see, making sure to watch at LEAST 50 news films/year (am up to 56 for 2014 already). Sorry to ramble, but you asked! =0)
Have heard a lot about "Suits" but haven't seen it yet; my tastes in TV are equally eclectic, yes; if you're on Pinterest, my TV and film boards on there are proof enough of that!

Spent the weekend putting in herbs and flowers. Tomatoes and basil must wait until the nights warm up so I've gotten back to reading Emma Donoghue's latest: Frog Music. I'm a third in and still not sure what I think of it. Nasty review of the book in Sunday's NYTimes Book Review. 500 negative words.
So, I was reading the Huffington Post this morning and saw an article about a New York City book club that went topless to help make reading sexy. Well, it worked!! But after a few glances and the lovely ladies, my eyes went to the book covers out of curiosity to see what they were reading. Lo and behold, I was thrilled that they were reading several Hard Case Crime Books, some of my favorite.
Maybe it's my, ahem, maturity that got me more excited about the books....haha.
in case you are interested, may be NSFW, so be careful:

Janet wrote: "I don't have a big enough garden for growing vegetables, but hope to try growing some herbs and tomatoes in decent sized pots this year again. Hope your herbs turn out well, Portia."Thanks for the good growing wishes, Janet. We don't plant veggies other than tomatoes, either. We found a couple of nice container plants along with different varieties of basil and some dill. Our perennials (oregano, thyme, parsley) didn't make it through this awful winter. Only the catnip did. It even spread into the planter for the tree rose! I have a pride of cats lining up at the window willing the "weed" to grow quickly ^^:-)
DianeAlice wrote: "Crikey Daniel! But where are the topless men? Perhaps you'd like to volunteer....;-)"Haha, I just share the news, not make it!
Well, I do read topless at home. Thankfully, not too many people have to endure that, however.
I was to busy not noticing that there no men, sorry! And they have great reading selections!!!I don't think too many men read, much less hunky men.
Jamie Lynn wrote: "Are we really so pathetic that it takes topless women to try to get people to read??? Oh that's just sad lol"YES!

ha...in the digital age, are they still being published???

I spent the day taking care of my sister's cat and working on a final paper for my anthropology class. My sister's cat whose name is Harper is such a sweet and lovely kitty. That I didn't mind taking care of her and my sister thought it was so nice of me to do that. But no big deal and I got a lot of work done.
Mark Hamill (Luke Skywalker) and I are the same age. wonder how often he needed a stunt person to do simple tasks for him? ;-)
He was in a Criminal Minds episode I recently viewed, time has not been as kind to him as to Harrison Ford.

Are they going to have rocket-propelled space walkers in the new Star Wars?

Sky Walkers. Space Walkers. Sounds good to me ;-)
Janet wrote: "What year are you at Uni, Janessa. Are you reading Anthropology? Such an interesting field."
I think I'm a sophomore not sure, my major is in theatre design. I took the anthropology class because I like learning about different people and cultures.

I've found that, given sufficient time, animals adjust to one another. The biggest challenge is getting us humans to give it the time it needs. We have two cats who hated each other and now sleep on the same bed. Opposite corners, but the same general space.
Spaying and neutering are very, very important for lots of reasons. And I have had nasty male cats become sweet lap cats after their "procedure ". :-)
I have one male and three females. The females hate each other and spread rumors behind each other's backs.

Haha, you don't know my cats. They are the mean girls of cats. Actually, it is only one who really despises everyone else. Except me. She thinks, rightfully, that I am awesome.
Oh yeah. Mine see me in the kitchen and they starting pacing. Yelling. Because to them, the only reason I would be in the kitchen is to give them treats.
My own cat Ziggy loves to eat and he lets everyone know when he eaten he comes up stairs announcing that the food was good or something. Any way he makes a lot of noise.
My cats open doors but only the ones with latches. Their grubby paws can't work the knobs on other doors. Haha.

I would love to get a dog but mine are all over 10 and I don't want to disturb my kids so I will wait. Though there are A LOT of dogs in the area and Miss Puddin' will turn her murderous rage on a whim. My boys are indoor only, except for when I take them for walks so they **** themselves anytime they see a dog.
Portia wrote: "Leigh, what means. "THIS!!!!!!"? ( I'm not very fluent in alpha speak :P. TNX, Portia"I apologize. I just meant that I strongly agreed with your statement.
Please don't apologize for agreeing with me! :-). I thought that's what you meant. Just checking my vocabulary :)
I an see them standing in each other's shoulders as they do this. Actually, two cats know how to do this. The other two will just stare at the door, as if trying to make it open by using the Force.

what kind are they? And do you run a lot?
I wish you did, too, Jamie Lynn. I'd enjoy hearing what you think if Martin Freeman's northern Midwest accent. I really like him as an actor. I live his comic timing. I wonder how he does a NE PA accent ? ;-)
