What would you do to improve the world?

I've been hearing a lot about this Thomas Piketty Book about Wealth in the 21st Century and seeing as I'm setting my books in a future where the gap between rich and poor has become quite physical, I'm wondering how individuals with wealth and authority over the upper class might go about enforcing a redistribution of wealth.

Here's a trust-worthy saying: "You can't change the world, but you can impact one person's life." IOW, change the world one life at a time.

I think there would be a mutiny before the very rich would allow someone to take their money. So instead of motivating such an action, I'd change the value of things. People get wealthy from things that lots of people value. Example, if oil was no longer used or needed, the big Oil Cats would have a bucket of useless liquid :)
