This is my thread on here where you can ask me any questions pertaining to my authorship.

That's a fancy way to say feel free to ask me anything! I really don't care. I highly encourage other authors to do the same.

Some questions promps:

What were you thinking when...
How do authors...
What was the reason you...
Who is the most...
What do you think about...

Gaines Post (gainespost) | 86 comments What got you into writing thrillers and horror and other spooky stuff like that?

One night I was sleeping and then this poisonous worm crawled into my brain and said...

Kidding, of course. (Maybe).

I actually got interested in it because, for two or three years, I stopped writing completely. Oh, the shame! Anyways, I got back into it and wanted a new genre to write in. I'd been writing fantasy, adventure stuff but never could finish anything, so I wanted something with a quicker plot and more scary stuff.

That's when I found horror. It started with reading short stories, because I liked being scared. I've loved horror movies for years, but only got into books recently. So I started writing my own short stories and tah-duh, there it was. I had a collection, and I self-published, and it's been great.

Gaines Post (gainespost) | 86 comments Very cool.

I think our interests change with time. It's good that you are flexible enough in your writing to go with the flow of your mind like that. Some people probably get stuck in a rut because they are unwilling to change genres, even if they no longer feel any passion for the genre(s) they have been writing in for so long. It's good to get out and stretch your legs now and then, try new things.

I agree. I don't plan to stay in horror forever, but I don't plan to leave it altogether either. I'm young and just excited to see where writing takes me :)

For a while, I only wrote category romance novels. Then Dean Koontz's book, "Intensity", inspired me to start writing suspense. And now, I'm working on one book that's a suspense/sci-fi with an evil mummy in it. I'm excited about it. So, I definitely agree.

Ooh :) You better tell me when that comes out, Groovy. Or at least offer an ARC copy of it to review. Something for your best author friend (besides everyone in this group, of course).

I'll do that, David. I can't wait until it's finished, which will be sometime in 2017.
