What you said about them being real people in the story really hit home. Most of the time, I disregard characters that come in the way of any couple I'm shipping, but they have their own story too. So even if Kieran and Mark aren't endgame, Kieran could learn the ways of humans, learn to properly love.

I love Kieran. he has potential. I want him to grow like Alec did. Because, to be honest, we all hated him in COB. Now he's y fav character.

I mean, I love Kieran, yes. But I also love Cristina. They're both my children. Kieran did something terrible and I still can't entirely forget about it, but at the same time he loves Mark so hard it hurts me. I want him to be happy, I want him to have what he wants because it's very obvious that he's never had what he wants.
But then there's Cristina. Sweet, sweet Cristina who doesn't deserve all the hate everyone is throwing at her. Sweet Cristina who will help Mark getting Kieran safe in LoS, even after all the damage he's done, only because she knows Mark still loves Kieran and she loves him enough as to do everything she can to help him save his beloved one.
I don't understand how it seems that no one can see that. Everyone is acting like Cristina was some crazy girl that hates Kieran and will do everything to ruin his relationship with Mark so that he'll be hers and only hers, when it's actually all the way around.
She cares about Mark so much and she knows he cares so much about Kieran she practically pushes away any chance of getting with him after seeing them kissing.
That's why I can't decide between shipping Mark/Cristina or Mark/Kieran.
I'm really looking forward to see Kieran and Cristina interacting together in Lord of Shadows. I really hope Cassie doesn't make them hate each other like it happens in every other love triangle. I hope Cristina, in some way, can help Kieran a little with understanding Mark.
I want the three of them to be happy and I don't think it's even possible to make that happen so I'll just end heartbroken at the end of this series for sure, independently of who is the end game.

Yes, I do ship them.
1. THEIR NAMES OMG! This may sound stupid, but Kieran is such a nice name, and it fits the character so well. Also, the names Mark and Kieran go so well together, it's perfect.
2. THEY ARE SO ADORABLE TOGETHER. I love their relationship, I think it is lovely and perfect how they relied on each other during the Hunt, and how they fell in love. It was beautiful.
3. I hated, HATED how Kieran broke Mark's heart, and had them whipped. I think it was absolutely horrible, and Mark needs to not forgive him quickly about this. But they NEED to end up together at the end. I think Kieran will do some huge, grand move, like becoming a Shadowhunter or something like that, and Mark wil fall in love with him again.
4. I DESPISE Diego's and Cristina's relationship, and I HATE that mark and cristina could be together. First, Cristina doesn't need a man. 2, Mark needs to be with Kieran, and Diego was such a horrible person. HE waited one full YEAR to contact her again, after she ran away. They were "IN LOVE" why didn't he contact her sooner??
Anyway, this is kind of a jumbled mess of words, but my main points are- I ship Mark and Kieran, I hate Diego, and Cristina should be a strong woman who doesn't need a love interest.

I'm the kind of person that wants to be intrigued and surprised by a romance. Cristina/Mark is cliche and boring. Before Kieran was introduced, I read the haircut scene, and I was like great. This is what she has for Mark. I was so bored with it. Then Kieran came along and I was like oh wow yes! I can ship this! Then all of the sudden it falls apart. And it's sad. I then fell in love with Kieran as a character.
You see, I like the complicated, troubled characters. Like, Snape is my favorite character in Harry Potter. These characters have a hard past- Kieran came from a family that hated him. He doesn't know the love of a family, and that is why he was so quick to throw Julian under the bus. No, it doesn't make it okay. But Kieran loves Mark and doesn't even know Julian, so it makes sense. I just feel bad for Kieran because no one sees where he is coming from and Mark is being a total ass. Like, he helped you when you were in the hunt and all you can do is fall for some other girl when he is away! You hurt him! And now you're shunning him for things he does not even understand! Even when he wanted to help, he didn't want to see him. Like, really Mark? What the hell.
Anyways, yes, I totally ship them. I wish there were more people that did. It breaks my heart to see cliche romances like this all the time. But I'm sort of a pessimist, so, we'll see how this goes.

I think Cristina is a nice girl, but I think Kieran is a lot more interesting. Consequently, Kieran X Mark sounds more exciting to me!

And I really don't think that Cristina having a love interest would mean she's not strong, you know? The great thing about Mark/Cristina is that Mark wants rely on her so desperately whenever he's not feeling well, which means that Mark would be the one needing her and no the other way around.
Anyway, I don't even think this whole "strong character" thing matters when having a love interest doesn't make a character any weaker. Kieran is vulnerable, you know, and he needs Mark. He needs him so hard. But that doesn't make Kieran weak or less strong, does it? He's still this stubborn, powerful Faerie Prince which will kill you if you mess with his beloved.
And, so far, we have only seen Cristina's gentle side. Cassie has already told us she has a lot darker side, when you mess with her loved ones or gain her mistrust. We haven't seen it yet, but Cristina's not perfect and we don't know if she might do something that will hurt Mark on the future.
I guess all is left is to wait for the books and see what happens. I'm too confused to take a side on any ship.
PD: Oh, and I don't think it's possible for a downworlder to become a shadowhunter. And shadowhunters right now hate faeries so much I don't think Kieran would be able to get close to them without getting punished or hurt.

but, the one trope I had always hated came into play. mark is removed from his boyfriend for a few days, and suddenly he's flirting with this girl he hardly knows. He's dancing with her, and he can see that this hurts Kieran.
But, if Kieran acts offended, if he retaliates in any way, the fandom says he's a *gasp* TRAITOR.
Like, Mark's attention span is so short that he just forgets about Kieran, only thinking about him when he's there.
this keeps happening to characters and its terrible. looking at you, Aelin and Lena.
I just want Kierark to happen. It's my favorite ship in tdA, and Kieran is one of my all-time favorite characters, even if he's a sort of antihero.

To start, because they are t..."
I TOTALLY AGREE WITH YOU. WHOLEHEARTEDLY. Cristina and Mark are just boring! It's way too cookie cutter. That Is why I was sooo excited when Kieran was introduced; it was something interesting. I didn't know that it would lead to so much heartache. I think that our chances for them being together are QUITE slim :(

Mark deserves Christina, because I don't trust Diego right now!
Can't wait to read Lord of Shadows. I saw it at BAM recently but it was waaaay to expensive. I'll have to wait!

I personally can't stand Diego and Cristina. To me their just isn't something right about Diego and I feel like he's hiding something big behind his perfect smile. I might be biased but personally I ship Mark and Cristina more at the moment and I can't wait to see how their relationship develops. I hope that Kieran will get a happy ending as well.
