Maja nodded, reaching for a slice of toast. "How's school so far for you?"

"Boring and sucky. Like always." He replied softly. "You?"
"You worried about taking the O.W.L.s later this year?" He asked curiously.
"I wasn't...until now." Maja fake-glared at him.
"Oops. Was I not supposed to mention that?" He asked.
"No, no, I'm only just trying not to panic about them." Maja waved her hand dismissively.
"They make them sound a lot worse than they are.." Jasper reassured her.
"Yeah. They like to make you afraid of them though." Jasper said, shrugging.
"I guess if they don't, no one will care."
"Yeah. Then they are pointless." Jasper said, shrugging.
Jasper Smiled lightly at her. He looked around the great hall.
People were starting to trickle in, but not enough that Maja felt she had to move. She didn't see the point of making everyone sit with their houses anyway.
Jasper ran a hand through his hair. "Did you get a chance to start reading that book yet?"
She shook her head. "Not yet, but I'll try to today."
"I'll tell you how it is, though." Maja smiled, "And it probably won't take long to finish."
"Okay." Jasper nodded. "I figured it wouldn't. I go through a book every two days or so,,"
Maja nodded, "I'm the same. I could finish it in a couple hours if I didn't have things like school and eating to do."
"Yeah. School gets in the way of lots of stuff." He said with a sigh.
"Like reading. But school is important too."
"Yeah." Jasper shrugged in agreement.
"I can tell, you'd rather skip class and read, wouldn't you?" Maja asked in a joking tone.
"I've only done that a couple times. And none this year." Jasper replied.
She shook her head. "I'm not surprised."
"I figured you wouldn't be.." Jasper shrugged.
"What? Oh. Let me guess. You think I'm crazy?" Jasper asked.
"Let's see. I don't sleep. I skip dinner most nights. I'm nocturnal. I ditch classes to read." Jasper listed with a light smile.
Maja shrugged. "Doesn't make you crazy. Just different!"
"what about trying to get onto the roof of the school? Does that count as crazy?" He asked.
Maja tilted her head to the side in thought. "Maybe."
"Okay. Cause I've done that too." Jasper replied.
"Not yet. I'll get there though." Jasper replied with a light smile.
"Yep. Just as long as I don't get in trouble doing it." He said, shrugging. More members of each of the houses were coming into the hall.
Maja smirked. "I'm sure you will." She said.
Jasper nodded. A seventh year Slytherin walked over to them. "What are you doing here?" He asked Maja with a frown.
Maja glared up at him. "Talking to a friend," she said, "But then, I don't suppose you'd know much about friendship."
"You shouldn't be over here. Get back to your own table." The guy said with a snarl. Jasper stood up. "Back. Off." He said. He stood taller than the other guy since he was almost 6'. "She has done nothing to you so just back off and go sit down somewhere with your other buddies."
Maja stayed where she was. "I've done nothing at all to you." She smiled.
"I'm coming for you Jasper.." The guy threatened. "Good luck with that. Now go." Jasper said, waving the guy away.
Maja watched as the guy left, then burst into giggles. "Thank you," she said to Jasper.
Jasper nodded. He sat back down next to her, mumbling under his breath.
