I've read reports he can be a real Bad Kevin behind the scenes."Oh yes, the massive temper tanties and epic sulking during filming were documented. There were also many revealing comments from those who worked closely with him.
The book was also far more revealing about Gillard than the TV series was — and not in a good way.
I just finished Darkest Place and I'm sorry to say that it was horrible.....that it had to end. Jaye Ford...bravo.
Brenda wrote: "Can I just ask why your profile says 0 to everything? Reads, ratings, to reads...."That interests me as well - don't you put the books on your shelves?
Yeah, it does look a little weird when everyone else has these bookshelves and how many books they've read etc. I haven't fully immersed myself in the bookshelf and rating part of Goodreads. If I just see or hear about a book that interests me then I buy it and read it. I've never been someone who lists or organises books into whether they've been read or not. If I did make a list, it'll probably just keep growing and I won't be able to read everything in it. I'm also not much of a reviewer either so I don't like giving stars or ratings to books [I used to do this but I kind of a feel a book or film or any other piece of entertainment is much more than a star or a rating]. I can't take myself seriously as a reviewer to be able to do that. Also, if there's something I didn't like about a book, I'm the type of person who'd rather keep it to themselves then put it out there which would make my reviews seem uneven as well.As for not having a profile pic, that I have no excuses for. My brother's a photographer so I'll soon be getting him to help me with a proper author photo, posing to make me look a lot more smarter and classier than I am.
Why don't you just put the books you've read with a rating? You don't have to review - many more people don't write reviews than do. And it makes it easier for followers to see what sort of books you like to read. I know I often check profiles to see if the person has the same book interests as me. But the way you have it, it almost makes one wonder why you're on goodreads ;)
You're right! Looking at it that way, it would be a good idea to list books just to let readers or anyone else know where my interests lie as a both a reader and writer.
That's right :) So don't review - that's fine. But do list your "read" books and how you rated them. Don't forget, it's only YOUR opinion :) That's why we're all different. You might think a book I've rated 5 stars is no good, so you rate it 2 stars. It just means we're all different :) Go for it! I'll be really interested to see what it looks like :) (Including that elusive photo ;p)
Agreed Brenda. My low rating shouldn't reflect poorly on a book because it is evened out by the thousands of other ratings from other readers. Likewise if I give a high rating. Nobody's going to decide whether to read a book just based on my rating.

I had one author berate me as I gave her book 3 stars - that is above average in my view - but she wasn't happy.
Don't read her books anymore.

She certainly was brave, Sally, as the GR community is well known for disliking authors who do this sort of thing. The best contacts are authors who actually bother send to a 'thank you' email or appreciate your review, no matter whether it's positive or not.
Just started
The Enchanted Island by Ellie O'Neill and loving it! Have been sucked straight into the story

Loved that one Sally!

I'm currently enjoying The One-in-a-Million Boy by Monica Wood. I bought it a while back but Suzanne's review prompted me to push it to the top of my reading list.
p 153 Marianne. It's my bed time book so I'm reading it fairly slowly but it's a good book for reading a few pages at a time.
Just finished Zoo 2 by James Patterson....Wow! I had a blast with this one! It's hard to find something that's genuinely exciting and non-stop. Now I have no other choice but to pick up Zoo, which I can't believe I haven't read yet!
I'll think you'll enjoy it! It's a fun read! After reading this one, I'm really looking forward to Zoo now. From the sounds of it, the sequel used the ideas of the first one and took them to another level. I actually could've easily seen Matthew Reilly writing this one.

They're kind of like his own "Book Shots" except they're free to download from his website here [they're at the bottom of the page]: http://www.matthewreilly.com/the-novelsI would personally recommend both "Time Tours" and "Altitude Rush" if you're looking for quick, fun and intriguing reads with interesting twists.
No problem! Yeah, I couldn't find them on here either although I don't think many people know about them from the looks of it.

Here's one that I've read (quite some time ago) - Roger Ascham and the King's Lost Girl (wasn't that good in my opinion!)
Complex 13 and The Dead Prince are both there but I haven't read them or heard of them...

Time Tours, THE ROCK PRINCESS AND THRILLER WRITER, Altitude Rush, A Bad Day at Fort Bragg and The Mine are also there!
Looks like "Rewind / The Fate of Flight 700" is the only one which isn't!

Looks like I was looking in the wrong place. Thanks for that! I'll have to add them to my "Read" list.I thought Roger Ascham and the King's Lost Girl was alright. Did you enjoy The Tournament? It was definitely a change of pace for Reilly.
I edited my above post too Elias... I'm not sure how good they'll be - one I looked at only has 5 pages!
I think some of them would've made pretty good novels. I remember reading an interview where before publishing Contest, Matthew Reilly used to write short stories for magazines under the name "Melissa Reilly". I think some of these might be them.
I also forgot to mention, Brenda, that "Rewind" is a short screenplay, which is probably why it's not listed here.
I know Marianne often talks of coincidences in books she's reading - last night I finished Daisy in Chains where the main character is Maggie Rose. This morning I started Cross Kill and one of the characters is Maggie Rose. .....
I'm currently reading The Bride Wore Leather, the last book in the UF Nightside series. I've been enjoying this series so much, I'm actually sad to be reading the last book!!!
