I only own an iPad (I have no need to own a laptop or desktop computer) and can't see any of these functionalities on my phone or iPad?"Use your Safari browser rather than the Goodreads app, if you want increased functionality. Though there may be a need to switch to the desktop view, as Brenda mentions. I don't remember how to do this, or if it's even necessary from the browser.
If you use the app on your iPad you can't do diddly squat - I always open the browser. Right now on app on my phone so can't link anything. I tend not to mention books or reply directly to people when in app. If I have to do either of those things I close app down and open browser
Hi Arika, I don't have a computer, either.
I do everything on my phone almost 100% of the time. I've found that the Goodreads app for tablets and phones DOESN'T WORK at all for me. Just as Sally says, I, too go online with a web browser to the Goodreads website. Once there, I can do everything that I could do on my smart phone or tablet as if I were using a computer.
I think that this way you can do everything on your iPad as well.
To start, go online and open up a brand new web browser page. I don't think it matters which one like Safari, Firefox, etc. I use Google Chrome, but again I don't think it matters if you use just Google without the Chrome part it should work just fine.
***If you try to click on this link while you're still in the app it won't work. I tried it. So I recommend that you copy the address down to a piece of paper or cut and paste it to the web browser if need be.
Then type this website address:
https://www.goodreads.com
It should bring you to the browser's web page and the Goodreads main home page. You should then see a place to sign in in the upper right hand corner of the page. Now, just sign in and you should be good to go. You should be able to do all the good stuff like linking books and authors, etc. Hope this helps. =o)
Please let me know if this works for you and, If I can help any further please feel free to ask me or anyone here. We are all good resources. =o)
I started reading The End of the Day last night. It's a breath of fresh air so far. And having only read The Sudden Appearance of Hope a few months ago, I can certainly see some style continuity already.
About halfway through The Shifting Fog by Kate Morton. Currently listening to Bittersweet by Colleen McCullough, and am hoping to finish that tonight or over the next couple of days so I can get stuck into Déjà Dead by Kathy Reichs.
I just started Agatha Raisin and the Murderous MarriageI'm not a big fan of cozies but read these and love them. They are very funny.

I loved Kathy Reichs's Déjà Dead. The entire Temperance Brennan series is excellent! Enjoy!
Currently listening to Burial Rites. So glad I am doing so. Don't think I would be able to pronounce those Icelandic names. Really enjoying it so far.
Brenda wrote: "Yes I'm sad she's not writing anymore :( I'm hopeful she might miss it so much that she'll do both!"I'm hoping that after she's had enough of nursing she'll write some medical thrillers for us. Wouldn't that be cool?
LOL - she said that. When she was still in training a patient recognised her and thought she was undercover getting information for another book. The patient was very worried when told there were many ways to bump a patient off!

"I found this a fascinating read. And very impressive for a debut, I thought.
Ryan wrote: "I didn't love Oryx and Crake but I keep hearing about The Handmaid's Tale so I'm giving Margaret Atwood another shot."I just finished the handmaid's tale and I loved the book . There was so much going on the book that I had to read it for 2nd time to make sure I did not miss anything . There is also a movie of the handmaids tale that was made in 1990 that helped me to understand the book better.

"Excellent read Owl :)"
And then some!
I've just started Adrian McKinty's latest release, Police at the Station and They Don't Look Friendly and it's so good. He is such a good writer and his dialogue with the locals and the other police is often so funny I couldn't help laughing out loud on a packed train this morning.

I am reading a book by an Aussie author:
The Shape of Us by Lisa Ireland.I am really enjoying it - I have read one of her other books before Breaking The Drought and enjoyed that one as well - so think I have to add her to my must read everything she writes list!!!
The Girl In Kellers Way by Megan Goldin
Absolutely fantastic thriller. I just finished it and could not put it down. Now looking for a book that good.

Thanks Owl! I'm about 15% into my audiobook of Déjà Dead by Kathy Reichs, and finding it rather fascinating so far - such vivid detail!
Also continuing with The Shifting Fog by Kate Morton. Quite brilliant, but also a bit of a monster in terms of volume!
It sounds like there are some excellent reads to explore! :)
I've just spent a couple of hours reading Everything on a Waffle by Polly Horvath This was a lovely middle grade Newbery Honor Book set in coastal British Columbia.I'm just about to start Agorafabulous!: Dispatches from My Bedroom by Sara Benincasa for the Winter Challenge.
Almost finished The Shape of Us by Lisa Ireland - really, really enjoying it and will be sorry for it to finish!
After watching the first episode of Pulse on ABC last Thurs, I thought I should pick up The Recipient by Dean Mayes. Remember that I purchased it after a few good reviews on here. Quarter of the way in and it's very good.
Currently reading Catch Me If You Can: The True Story of a Real Fake !! Easy read, so different from the movie.
Down the back of the queue Graeme! There are a few of us in line already for those wonderful felines.

This morning while drinking my coffee before work started I picked up my current 'at work' read and was instantly hooked - is going to be a great book if it continues the way it has started!!!
The Curious Charms of Arthur Pepper by Phaedra Patrick It is her debut novel - and she has a second book out - Rise and Shine, Benedict Stone which I will keep an eye out for (is not at library)
