I was looking at a second-hand copy of The Spy Who Came in from the Cold by John le Carré on sale for 50p in the City Library and saw another person browsing the shelf. I said, This is an excellent book for 50p! He said, Oh yes!
But we had both already read it, and I've just read it this year. I told him I was looking for books from authors around the world for a reading challenge and he asked if I'd read the Norwegian author Karl Ove Knausgård, and I said I hadn't. So he had me follow him upstairs to the stacks and he found A Death in the Family and said, Here, start with this. And when you're done leave a bit of paper with a note in it to tell me how you like it.
I agreed, and he said his name is Matt and I told him, I'm Jazzy, and he looked quizzical and I said, like jazz music. So he smiled and I agreed to leave a note afterwards then we shook hands.
I took the rather sticky book with some of the pages already falling out to the enquiries desk, where the librarian removed the plastic film (as it was indeed quite tacky and unpleasant), saying she'd replace it when the book was returned.
I'm only 38 pages in of this large 400 page book. It's his autobiography, called Min Kamp (My Struggle), part 1. He has a way of being very honest with his feelings and doesn't hide things about himself that other people might, and looks to be quite good.
I’m a happy little vegemite - picked up from the PO Box today:
The Spotted Dog by Kerry Greenwood SwoonAnd
What the Woods Keep by debut Aussie author Katya de Becerra - has all the elements I love in a book YA, Fantasy, Paranormal, Science Fiction and Mystery! Looking forwards to both of these books!

Wollongong City Libraries have a few lockers around the town with old library books in them. Stickers on the books say "Take a book to keep, swap or return here for others to enjoy" so, having donated plasma, I helped myself to Spider Woman's Daughter as a little reward. And direct to my door from Finch Publishing, Mr Ordinary Goes to Jail as I heard this guy on ABC Conversations and it sounded fascinating.

I just went to the Lifeline Bookfest and bought about 20 books! Going back tomorrow near closing time to get some half priced books. I went a bit overboard when I first got there and made myself put some back. :-)

I just placed a little Brotherhood Books order as they're having a 20% off sale until midnight tonight. The coupon code is JOYFUL, is anyone else is so inclined. I got three books so that's also free shipping. Will list the books when they arrive :)

I also requested the new Orphan X novel, Out of the Dark - St Martin's so probably won't get it but worth a try.
