Carolyn | 9840 comments LOL! Checked into NG and looked up the title (from Touchstone) and it says "Your request is pending". Must have requested it while sleepwalking.

I think that happens sometimes as I occasionally get emails approving books I don't remember requesting .

I should say Brenda I am a spoiled Inner West of Sydney person and I have to drive 25 minutes in traffic to one which isn't far, I'm used to being able to get everywhere in 10 minutes so I'm just being a brat :-)

I'm spoiled and I hate traffic on weekends which is the only time I have to go and get it but will see if I can convince my retired Dad to go get it for me next week! Such a brat

Good to see some ARs winning. I'm not having much luck on either. Lots of bloggers giving away books also.

message 984: by Veronica ⭐️ (new)

Veronica ⭐️ | 2384 comments Went to a local book fair today and picked up a few must have books. They charge by the inch so stayed away from the thick books.
9 x Sue Grafton books
The Railwayman's Wife
After You
Emerald Springs
The Perfumer's Secret
Never Look Away
Sticks And Stones
Crimson Dawn
The Outback Heart
We Were Liars

message 985: by Elias (new)

Elias Zanbaka | 862 comments They charge by the inch? Are they trying to be unique with their pricing? That's the first I've ever heard of it!

Veronica ⭐️ | 2384 comments Elias wrote: "They charge by the inch? Are they trying to be unique with their pricing? That's the first I've ever heard of it!"

At $3 an inch it's not cheap either. It's a quick way of charging, they pile all your books up against a stick which is marked in inches and then just times it by three.

message 987: by Elias (new)

Elias Zanbaka | 862 comments Short stories and novellas must be popular there.

I received in the post from Text Publishing today - The Rules of Backyard Cricket by Jock Serong

After they'd offered it to me, and I'd read the blurb, I said there was no way I would have chosen it to read otherwise from the title - but it's a crime thriller!
