It's been ages since I had book from Text Publishing, I guess because they're in Melbourne and not at the office. Today, in the mail, not direct from Text, but through United Book Distributors, a print copy of White Throat, which I've already read on NetGalley.
Fremantle Press have been running a '2 for the price of 1' promotion through local bookshops for new-release crime fiction. So I acquired Dave Warner's Before It Breaks along with Alexander Thorpe's Death Leaves the Station. Quite different in style, but both great reads.
From work today for my 5 day break More than a kick: footy, the photo and me by Tayla Harris
Honor Girl: A Graphic Memoir by Maggie Thrash
Audubon, On The Wings Of The World by Fabien Grolleau
In celebration of retail finally opening up here in Melbourne, I naturally went to a bookstore. Pretty proud of myself - only one of these wasn't already on my TBR. XDThe Other Side of the Sky
Honeybee (totally caved under peer pressure)
The Burning Chambers
Darkdawn
The Ghost Tree
House of Dragons
Harrow Lake
Our numbers here keep increasing so I’m going on-line book shopping (strictly for my mental health) 😂
I went out today for the first time since lockdown. At my local Salvos I picked up The Little Black Book of Setlists $2 for my BIL
The Life and Opinions of Maf the Dog, and of His Friend Marilyn Monroe - $3
Be Near Me - $3
Sea Otters Gambolling In The Wild, Wild Surf - $5
Tales from the Back Row: An Outsider's View from Inside the Fashion Industry $4
No Friend but the Mountains: Writing from Manus Prison $8
Very happy with my haul.

Most stores are open but all indoor activities like dining, cinemas, gyms etc are closed. Like many around the world, most activities are held through zoom. It’s going to be a tough winter.

Ah I see, not good! We've only just opened up here in Victoria so I know how you feel. My sister is over there in Ottawa but seems to be a bit more controlled there for sure.

Ottawa is another hotspot (as you probably heard from your sister) .....but today we had a glimmer of good news. The gov’t has been under pressure to re-open business sectors and is now re-examining the imposed restrictions & will present a new plan next Fri. A loosening of restrictions will be such a relief.
So glad your city has also opened up. Cheers!
