Hi everyone! I've been on GR for several years and used to read a lot, about 100 books a year. But of course life sometimes gets in the way, and that number has dropped to nearly zero in the past 8 months or so. I FINALLY decided to live an honest, open life and came out to family and friends, much to the surprise of my son and ex-husband! and real life book club buddies ;-) Now that the dust has settled, I'm finally getting back to the parts of my life that I enjoy the most, reading being one of them! I'm happy to do it with like-minded people!

Welcome Mandy - glad the dust it setting. We're happy to have you in the group! What are some of your favorite books/authors?
I love authors who write great stories in a subtle, nuanced way Like Daphne Du Maurier, Ian McEwan, and Sarah Waters. I also love Stephen King for his wild imagination and Bill Bryson for his humor. And sometimes I like a good ol' suspense or mystery, and Michael Connelly and Nevada Barr are favorites there. And I'm a suckered for a good plot twist, so if a writer can surprise me with one, I'm an instant fan!

Her books are not only nuanced as you say but also great fun to read!
