You are receiving this because you-- yes you are one of the few, the proud --- the literate. I am thrilled that so much support came out to throw down for the book club!
Basically our needs are simple-- we just need to get the word out and up about our calendar and meetings. You don't have to be a promotions machine or well connected to help ( though if you are- please raise your hand) Here are the basic things
Fliers: I am under limited finances when it comes to making postcards and posters right now-- However if any of you work in offices that have things like copy machines or good printers and can produce a few handbills or a poster or two for a local bookstore inform me and I will send you the 300dpi image to print out.( this really is like Project Mayhem)
If you wish to distribute fliers in your neighborhood ( coffeeshops,record/book stores) please let us know what neighborhood you are in and we will get you fliers
DIGITAL PROMO: The image is hosted on the myspace page and on photobucket... http://i91.photobucket.com/albums/k29... please encourage your friends to join us on my space http://www.myspace.com/nobodyreadsinla and post the banner proudly-- as for the basic blah blah on this months title and the club the NRILA blog has been updated. Cut and paste from it what you will. I will put the press release out this next week and if anyone is interested in passing it on-- let me know.
Events:
I will be in L.A. for every other meeting --On my off months Miss Erin Levy will be the boss of Nobody Reads In L.A.- as always I will contribute nosy notes and stick my great big opinion in where ever I can - but as for the actual club and the meeting- It's all about her those months!
As it stands it looks like The Echo will be our consistent meeting place every month. I will know for certain within the next 24 hours. I am moving the meeting to Tuesday nights so that I can sync being in town for the Downtown Art Walk when I am there. I am certain I will need help the "day of show" with setting up for the screening, ect... I will keep everyone posted as we roll up on the date.
Everything is really simple but we need some momentum to keep it going- I am delighted for the 3rd chance to revive this club-- that never seems to happen! So- with that-- I send you off to go not quiet in the night(life) and get the word out about L.A.'s most kickass book club...
**If you have extra promo skills that will benefit us...reveal yourself!--
