Dawn was flipping through a book, her fingers leaving marks on the worn yellow pages. It was on mechanics, her favorite subject, and Dawn was immersed in the diagrams, loosing herself in the topic she found would always take her mind off of her brother.

Dawn looked up, surprised when she heard the creaking of the floorboards. "Oh. Hello, Fransisco. Is something up with Princess?" she asked, standing up and crossing towards him worriedly.

"Oh. Of course," Dawn said with a nod. "As long as your here... How good are you with mechanics? I've been working on a new project and I need some help."
"Look. I'm trying to plan an escape route and I know the safest place to head to in case there's trouble," Dawn said, pointing to a map spread out on a table. "I'm figuring out how to get there. And besides that, I need to find a place to train magic users. Somewhere in the castle."
"You know the palace best. Where would be the most condusive place to practice magic?" Dawn asked, fixing Francisco with an annoyed glance.
Dawn reworded her request. "No. Inside of the palace. Some place... sheltered, so that people can't see them or get in without some trouble." She studied the map, looking for a room that fit her description.

Dawn kept her cool, her expression inscrutable. "The woods are susceptible to attacks from the rebels. I don't think we'd want to put our magic students in danger." She narrowed her eyes. "Now would we?"

"Hidden rooms?" Dawn asked. "Hmm... I suppose that would work..."
"I do," Dawn said with a glare. "I've been around this place long enough. I have one slight problem, though." She unrolled a layout of the west part of the palace, drawn in great detail. "Each room has a lock, like this," she told him, gesturing to a lock. "They lock from the outside, since the rooms were originally used as a place to store valuables. So you need someone on the outside to the people inside back into the open."
"And attract attention? No way," Dawn said. "Don't you think someone standing outside a wall would look suspicious?"
"And if we're under attack?" Dawn asked with an eyebrow raised, looking slightly amused. "The answer isn't that simple."
"No, it's not, because there might an entire army after them," Dawn protested, annoyed.
"Can they get here in time?" Dawn asked. "Maybe they can't. I need to do the calculations."
"It sounded like a good idea," Dawn said, close to the point of anger.
"So... standing around and watching people like a creepy stalker?" Dawn asked, her voice expressionless.
"Well, you can tell the princess I don't need protecting. I'm not that important," Dawn told him angrily. "I don't think I matter that much to the queen."

"I know that. So? She shouldn't have sent you. She could get in trouble with the queen." Dawn sat down at the table, pulling a book towards her.
"So go back to doing your job," Dawn growled, feeling annoyed.
"Good." Dawn turned back to her book, totally ignoring Fransisco.
"Stop making noise, you're annoying me," Dawn told him, keeping her gaze focused on her book.
Dawn bit her tongue, trying hard not to say that bad word she'd learned recently.
"Well? Find something to do, your movement is distracting," Dawn said with a glare.
"Then at least sit down and look around," Dawn said through gritted teeth. "Somewhere where I can't see you." She sucked in a breath. "Idiot," she mumbled under her breath. "I have work to do, okay? The queen won't take any late work. My life could literally be on the line."
"You're distracting. Now shut up," Dawn hissed. "It's my life in danger here, not yours. How about you come back to me when you're in a situation with circumstances like my own?"

"Do you think I like this?" Dawn protested furiously. "I'd much rather be doing something I'm good at. I suck at planning and making and just- just leave me alone!" She buried her head in her hands, flopping down onto the table top.
