You have no idea how much I agree. I'm not sure whether it makes non-LGBT people feel like LGBT think of themselves as special (which I'm sure they don't), but the point is to spread awareness that being queer is just as normal as straight and that everyone should accept people for who they are.
On a different note, some straight people might be bashed for being straight by LGBT+ people because they are just deemed "normal" by the society unlike queer people, but such bullies in the LGBT+ community do not represent the entire LGBT+ community. So if that's why those straight people are cross, it's understandable why, but we need to realize that doesn't make the entire LGBT+ community bad. Same with the straight folk. Not all of them are homophobic and not all of them demand for a straight pride. It's just some of them, and neither parties should judge the other based on sexualities. I personally think that's the point of pride month: to tell people that everyone is human and not to discriminate people based on sexualities because it's not what matters.
Although, I actually don't like the fact that gay pride exists. Not that it's bad, but I'd love to see a day where everyone accepts everyone for who they are even without gay prides and rainbow flags. I mean imagine one random, boring day, the sun is shining, the flowers are blooming, the bees are buzzing, and everyone just accepts everyone without a second thought. Nobody insisting that they deserve the same respect as others, nobody shunning anyone for being a different sexuality or gender. Something like animals - homosexuality exists in the animal community, and you don't see them killing each other for being gay; nor do you see them holding up rainbow flags. They just coexist. No need of prides because everyone knows that everyone is amazing :)
But then, that seems like a long way to go, do until then, we need pride to get to that point where everyone is more accepting and supportive. And I have no complaints because rainbows are nice and most of the LGBT+ people I know are amazing :)
Sorry for this. It's just been in my head for so long, and you were saying exactly what I've been thinking.

THANK YOU!!! and i agree no one should be bashing on each other just for their sexuality/gender, even if they are straight and/or cis. and that exactly is why pride month is there
tbh i'm not sure if i consider myself trans or not but i don't mind ppl calling me trans, because i'm nonbinary and nonbinary ppl are under the trans umbrella, (since they don't identify with the gender that they were assigned with) but they don't have to consider themselves as trans if they don't want to
if you're lesbian and attracted to a trans women you're still a lesbianif you're gay and attracted to a trans guy you're still gay
if you're a straight women and attracted to a trans men, you're still straight
if you're a straight men and attracted to a trans women, you're still straight
because:
trans women are WOMEN
and trans men are MEN
cis women aren't the only ones with uteruses and they aren't the only ones that can get periods, trans men and nonbinary ppl have uteruses and can get periods too
trans women have ALWAYS been womentrans men have ALWAYS been men
nonbinary ppl have ALWAYS been nonbinary
they don't have to transition if they don't want to because they were already a women/men/nonbinary
hey, even if you're cis, put your pronouns somewhere on your bio because it helps normalize them, and plus not all of us are out irl

so, the same person that directed the harry potter movies was the same one that directed the percy jackson movieshis name is chris columbus
and i'm mad
because the harry potter movies were amazing and they blew up and harry potter got a lot of recognitionsbut the percy jackson movies? they sucked, and they messed up badly and percy jackson didn't get as much recognition as harry potter got
idek if they even read the percy jackson books, or they were too lazy but they messed it up so badly
i love the percy jackson series so much (as well as the other riordanverse series) and they deserve as much recognition as harry potter got
sometimes, i wish i wasn't born in an afab (assigned female at birth) body. i wish i was born in an amab (assigned male at birth) body instead, it'd be much easier.
i have to deal with periods, and afab things, and also i have armpit hair as well as other body hair, and we grow up hearing about how women aren't supposed to have body hair, and stuff and yeah cis women deal with these things too, but i'm nonbinary and for afab nonbinary ppl and trans guys, they cause dysphoria
and yeah, not all trans ppl are unhappy with the body they are born with, they just aren't the gender that they were assigned as
updates with what's going on in my lifeso i'm now more open about my autism then i was 3 or 4 months ago
i hate trump so much. so many ppl are getting murdered and he's not even doing anything, not only that but he's racist, and transphobic and homophobic
Yes!!!! Come here! This country is screwed up too, but compared to what Trump is up to, I'd say I'm happier here.

so on twitter, i posted a thread about how the "high functioning and low functioning" labels are ableist and explained why, and now this ableist person is in my mentions saying that they are medical terms and when my friend said that "when an autistic person says something is ableist, you as a non-autistic person should say okay", they replied with an analogy with being allergic to cats, as if that's the same thing as being autistic, and also they said autistic ppl aren't oppressed despite autistic ppl being murder, and ppl treating us as if we have a disease and us not being "normal" in society's eyes, and us being born in a world that was designed for neurotypical ppl. oh, and they also called me a whiny autistic person
so i was in europe the last couple of weeks (i'm sorry i forgot to tell you guys) and my dad asked me about bringing my future boyfriend and kids to europe and i just-he doesn't know
