WASSUP BOOKSTERZ?!

So I got bored (which you might end up hearing that a lot from me) so I decided to create a place where I can make lists and other people can share their lists and it can be one big beautiful magical realm of lists!

The lists could be about books if you'd like, but they could also be about anything in the world you could ever possibly want! They could even be steps for things like making friends in real life (if you have such steps please send them to me immeadiatley!) or how to make strawberry muffins that don't end up looking like monkey buns (also needed urgently).

But you could also list Top 10s or Bottom 10s or Sideways 10s or whatever you want because the Land of Lists is a totally free place!

HAPPY LIST MAKING! ❤

Hads | 986 comments Lists? Interesting...
Well, for steps on making friends in real life... approach is different and doesn't work on all people. It works most of the time for me, though.
1. Walk to person you want to be friends with
2. Make eye contact
3. Smile
4. Say "Hi, I'm (insert name here)"
5. Put out your hand for them to shake
If you've done it correctly they should shake your hand and introduce them self. If they don't, just shake it off and try again with someone else.
6. Ask them questions and tell them about yourself

Here's a list I made on sneaky and creative revenge plans because recently I placed a certain chocolate bar on a certain desk and a certain hog snatched said candy bar and shoved it down a certain hog throat and now I'm feeling pretty explosive!

SWEET REVENGE IDEAS

1. "'ROAST' THEM": Whichever way you want to interpret this, they will end up crispy when you're done!

2. "TAKE A CHILL PILL": Give them a bag of jelly beans as a gift, but the jelly beans are actually frozen laxitive pills painted bight colors!

3. "GO GET 'EM, TIGER!": Tell them you are going on a fun day out, but first invite them to a barbecue and accidentally spill meat on them. Then take them to the zoo and open the gates to the tigers' habitat "not on purpose, though"!

4. "KNOCK THEIR SOCKS OFF": Put just a tiny squirt of SuperDuper Forever Glue in their favorite pair if socks. Then when they can't take the socks off, they'll ask you to help and you'll be ready with a bat to pound them off yourself and KNOCK the socks clean off- with the feet still attacged to them!

5. GO EASY ON 'EM: Drop a couple stones under their pillow and maybe just a thumbtack or two under the sheets and when they get up screaming maybe just a tiny little skippery puddle of lemon juice and when they slip and fall and their eyes burn from the lemon juice/acid maybe accidentally drop some paper on the floor which might give them paper cuts a bit.

My eyes are now open! Thanks Hadiyah!
I usually pretty much hover around people and awkwardly pretend to be reading until they move far away.

Hads | 986 comments Haha, you're welcome. No more hovering. You need to start the conversation. You can switch up the steps to make it less awkward. Some people find that a bit weird to just introduce yourself. You can start off like "Wow, I love your pants! Where'd you get them?" and then after you talk about the person's pants for a while THEN you can introduce yourself and ask more questions and tell them about yourself. Much less weird that way.

So if I say something like "Wow your shirt is cool do you shop at Walmart?" They'll like me and I can start talking about myself and we can be friends?

message 8: by Hads (new)

Hads | 986 comments If they're a decent person then yes. Some people might be a bit rude, but you wouldn't want them as your friends anyways. Most people are nice and willing to talk :). You might want to say "Where did you get it from?" instead of "Do you shop at Walmart?" it leaves more room for conversation. If you say "Do you shop at Walmart?" They'll answer with "yeah" or "no" and then what will you say? It's not as easy. Maybe you'll be like "I shop at Walmart" and then what? There IS more you could say, but it'd be a short lived conversation and won't flow as easy. If you say "Where did you get it from?" They'll tel you and then you can go easy from there. Like "Oh, I've never heard of that place. Is it near here?" "What kind of things do they sell?" or if you do know the place "Oh, I love that shop. I bought this really cute top from there (or whatever and insert a description)" or "I don't really like that shop. The material makes me itchy (or whatever)" and you can just ask more questions leading from topic to topic and tell things about yourself that seem to fit in. You don't even have to say your name until the end if you don't want to. They might even ask you your name first :). Did that help? Or was it way too confusing? Did it make sense?

message 9: by Hads (new)

Hads | 986 comments That's just an example too. You can start off an conversation like "Hey, are you waiting for someone?" and then just go from there. Or you can go for the hair "You have such nice hair. Do you die it at home?" "Have you ever tried dying it at home?" "Do you cut it yourself?" "Where do you go to cut it?" "Is it naturally that wavy?" "I was thinking of dying/cutting my hair. What colour/style do you think I should do?"

message 10: by [deleted user] (new)

You're really good at conversation! If I can work up the nerve, I'm going to try it out and makes some friends that I can talk to using my real voice! :-D

message 11: by Hads (new)

Hads | 986 comments Hehe, thanks :). It's because I love talking ;).

So I was thinking of baking muffins and, because my brain has this way of trailing off, started thinking of the little quick snacks I made as a little kid. So bring out your inner lazy-kid and try these!

So-Easy-It's-Not-a-Recipe Recipes

1. PEANUT BUTTER ZOO: Spread some peanut butter on the flat sidebof an animal cracker. Then smush the flat side of another animal cracker against it. Voila- an animal cracker sandwich!

2. STAWBER-EAZIES: Why spend all that extra cashvon edible arrangements when you could make your own fancy fruits? Dip some strawberries in a jar of Nutella. Put it on a skewer.

3. TRAIL BRIX: Get a packet of oat meal. Ger some candy and nuts. Mix it together, pour a tiny bit of water and put it in the microwave for, like, five minutes. Then you get a rock hard trail mix bar- trail BRIX!

4. KETCHSTARD: Mix your ketchup and mistard together to make a super rare gourmet orange flavor, Ketchstard. Can be applied to any foods you eat with ketchup and/or mustard.

5. MASH-ZERRELLA CHEESE: Mash your potatoes around with a fork. Then cut up a stick if string cheese with the fork and mix it with your potatoes. Mash until ready to choke down!

Some of these may not work as well as others, but it's always nice to put some childhood exuberance into snacktime. :D

So I haven't posted in a while, and I decided to make a quick list. This is a bunch of tips for how to develop a poet's lifestyle. It really goes much deeper than this, but I thought it would be fun to put downa bunch of little tips and ideas. Hope you like it :)

LIVING THE POET LIFE

1. Write down EVERY poetic thought!
even if it doesn't seem poetic, or it's just a short phrase you thought of before going to sleep, or you had an intresting thought about something you witnessed. Any thought that is even relatively poetic or intriguing has potential of being your bext topic. Keep a journal or a phone with you EVERYWHERE you go.

2. Read whatever you can find!
Most people like to read and analyze the work of famous poets. You should definitely do that, but look for a lot of amateur and undiscovered work as well. The most brilliant thinkers can be hiding in the shadows! Reading poetry and closely examining it will serve as great inspiration and ideas for things like structure and technique.

3. You don't need to please a crowd!
For all really good poets, poetry is personal. Real feelings and ideas are put into every peice, so it doesn't have to be what someone else wants to hear. Your poem can be a sentence or pages long, have a neat rhyme scheme or crazy patterns. Show your uniqueness and passion for writing by not always following the rules- not that there are any, for poetry.

4. Play a LOT of word games!
We poets all know that fee things are more valuable than words. So exercise your vocabulary! Play all tge little word games in goodreads groups and on other sites. If you get bored, flip to a random page in a dictionary and write whatever new words you learn. Note all unknown words in other books and poems to study later. The more words you know, the better you can express yourself.

5. Make memories!
I know from personal experience that when you're a young poet, you don't really spend much tine enjoying your youth. You tend to want nothing other than to sit on your bed and hunch over your work. But- if you never experience strong feelings and events, what will you have to write about. Eventually you would have already described everything you've done so far in verse. You need to keep living to the fullest so you can write to the fullest!

So those are a few of my tips! That actually took longer than I expected but it was fun so whatever. If you found any of these useful and are also a poet, leave a comment! ♡ :D
