Ragna Reynisdóttir | 7 comments So I read this book not even a year ago and seem to have forgotten to add it to my book shelf, and now it's completely lost!
The book starts off with a small street kid, an orphan called Rat by everyone who knows of him. He can't speak and seems to be very young. He has this animal understanding about him, where he's skittish and frightened. He's addicted to some sort of plant, witch nubs his hunger.
He can actually use this shadow magic, where he merges into the shadow to flee ore sneak round when stealing food.
At one point he's being hunted by some angry mob fore stealing food, get's cornered in an alley and uses the shadow magic to get away. A wizard sees this and takes him into his home.
At first the child is very scared in the new how, witch he can't leave because of magic, and is said to use corners fore his droppings.
I have no idea of any useful information about an author, cover ore title. Just that it's fantasy with medieval settings.

Ragna Reynisdóttir | 7 comments I thought so too at first, that it was The way of shadows, but the boy in the book I'm looking fore is alone on the streets and doesn't talk ore have any friendly contact towards anyone, and goes straight from the streets to the wizard's home.

Tab (tabbrown) | 5084 comments What language/country were you in when you read the story?
Time period /location story takes place?
Part of a series?
Anything about the cover?

Ragna Reynisdóttir | 7 comments I live in Iceland but I get my book online in english so...
The story had a medieval setting, as far as I can remember, with horse carriages and dirty and underdeveloped city's. It's a fantasy/fiction with magic so I can't say it had any specific time period.
I'm positive it's a part of a series.
Noting about a cover than I recall.
