Does anyone else have problem with combining?

I tried to combine editions of the book today and I think there is some problem - the page keeps refreshing and telling me that the reqwst is being processed. It lasts so long that I'm sure something is wrong. Does anybody experienced similar thing recently?

What book? That sounds like an author or book with so many records that it's timing out.

Actually, I'm seeing a problem too: for Joe Hill, who doesn't have so many books that this ought to time out. I'm trying to combine "Fantasmas" with "20th Century Ghosts", and I'm getting the same processing loop. Sometimes I've had that and it's just that the page isn't returning to report success, but these books just aren't combining. I'm also now having the same problem with books by Richard Matheson trying to combine "Duel" and "Duel: Terror Stories".

I am running into this problem today, so I'm wondering if there's a separate error. I found a couple of Terry Pratchett books assigned to "Terry, Pratchett" so I removed the duplicate author. I tried to combine those editions into the others, but the page just keeps processing. Any hints?

I reported it in the Feedback group this morning -- apparently there's a separate process for handling combining books now, and sometimes it gets stuck even when the rest of the site is up and running. Hopefully they can figure out why it keeps happening and make it stop!

I had an issue with adding an additional version of the same book. Somehow..i ended up making another book..Can anyone help me fix that? I was trying to add another book cover or edition to: A Murder for Her Majesty. I'm sorry for the problem that arrose with this mix up. =(

EDIT: Oh..I think i figured it out. lol I combined it just now..hopefully it worked out properly..

Rheba, does that cover match any of the ISBNs listed without a cover? If so, please merge your edition with that one and add the cover to it. If not -- if that cover matches an ISBN with an existing cover, presumably as a re-issue under the same ISBN, then you did it precisely right.

yea..when i tried to add the ISBN that i had on the book, it said that the ISBN already existed on another copy, so i think i did it right..

I added ISBN 9789504916154 - El Misterioso Mr Brown by Agatha Christie - but it doesn't appear on the (long!) list of her work when I go to combine it with the English book (The Secret Adversary).

It's there. For some crazy reason page since they broke the "combine editions" into more than one page - they don't alphabetize correctly. Your entry is on page two. You can filter by words to show them together to combine. I probably need to report that in the feedback because it really bugs me.

Combining over two pages?
I'm cleaning up Agatha Christie and running into an issue of "orphan" non-English titles on page 2, that can't seem to be combined into the main title grouping on page 1?

The only way I have been able to do that is to temporarily add a word at the end of the foreign title that is in the main title group - then filter - then combine. Clumsy I know. But it works. Oh, then take that word out again.

Having the works be alphabetized correctly would really be very useful, or even a "show all" option as an overide to the automatically parsed pages. I'm off to the feedback group.
